Music is one of the easiest ways to bring people together, and some songs have a way of instantly changing the mood. Hispanic artists have created some of the most recognizable and fun songs that have become popular all around the world. Whether I am getting ready, driving in my car, hanging out with friends, or just need a song to put me in a better mood, these five songs are always ones I can count on.

1. “On the Floor” — Jennifer Lopez ft. Pitbull

My number one song is “On the Floor” by Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull, also known as Mr. Worldwide. While I have always liked this song, it became one of my absolute favorites after watching Off Campus. In one of the most memorable scenes from the show, Allie attends a costume party wearing an iconic Jennifer Lopez-inspired green dress. When “On the Floor” starts playing, she immediately starts dancing, and Dean joins her on the dance floor. The scene made the song feel completely different to me because I now immediately picture that moment whenever I hear it.

What makes the scene even more memorable is how perfectly the song fits the energy of the party. The combination of the music, Allie’s costume, and the dance between Allie and Dean makes it one of those scenes that sticks in your head. After watching it, I started listening to “On the Floor” way more, and it quickly became my favorite song on this list.

2. “Tití Me Preguntó” — Bad Bunny

Coming in at number two is “Tití Me Preguntó” by Bad Bunny. Bad Bunny is one of the biggest names in Latin/Hispanic music, and this song is one of my favorites because of its upbeat and catchy sound. It has so much energy, and the chorus is one that I can easily sing along to. I especially enjoy listening to it when I am with friends because it is the type of song that immediately gets everyone excited. Bad Bunny has so many popular songs, but “Tití Me Preguntó” stands out to me because it is fun, memorable, and always puts me in a good mood.

 3. “Beautiful Liar” — Shakira ft. Beyoncé

My third choice is “Beautiful Liar” by Shakira featuring Beyoncé. I love this song because it brings together two incredibly talented artists. Shakira and Beyoncé have completely different styles, but their voices work so well together in this song. The beat is catchy, and the song has a very confident and powerful feeling. It is also one of those songs that I have known for a long time, so hearing it brings back a nostalgic feeling. “Beautiful Liar” is definitely a song that never gets old.

4. “Gasolina” — Daddy Yankee

At number four is “Gasolina” by Daddy Yankee. This is one of the most recognizable reggaeton songs, and I feel like almost everyone knows the beat as soon as it starts playing. Daddy Yankee is one of the most well-known names in reggaeton, and “Gasolina” is a perfect example of the energy that makes the genre so fun. I love this song because it is upbeat, catchy, and impossible to sit still to. This song has a very memorable place in my heart because every hockey game I played in growing up would have this song played during warmups. Now every time I hear it, it brings me so much nostalgia.

5. “María” — Ricky Martin

Finally, my fifth favorite song is “María” by Ricky Martin. This song has such a fun rhythm and an upbeat sound. Ricky Martin is another artist whose music has become popular around the world, and “María” is one of his songs that I always enjoy listening to. The song has a classic feel to it while still being something that makes me want to dance. Even though it is the fifth song on my list, it is still one that I would never skip when it comes on.

Overall, these five songs are favorites of mine for different reasons. Some remind me of specific moments, while others are simply songs that always make me happy. Whether I am listening to them in the car, getting ready, or dancing with friends, these five songs will always have a place on my playlist.
