The magical sanctuary of Pixie Hollow is home to the adventurous Tinker Bell and many fairies who live and work there to bring about the changing seasons. A land shaped by four distinct seasons, Pixie Hollow gives each fairy a unique talent that groups them together to perform tasks relating to their special gift. This gift is given during the Talent Choosing ceremony, where fairies born from a child’s laugh allow the talent to choose them.

Periwinkle, Tinkerbell’s sister, lives in the Winter Woods, where she is beloved by those around her. But beneath her seemingly perfect life lies a secret. Readers can discover the answer in the recently released book, “Wings of Reverie,” which follows Periwinkle on adventures to save the Pixie Dust Tree, the source of Pixie Hollow’s magical life.

The Timeline of the Disney Fairies Franchise

On March 3, 2015, “Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast” was released in the U.S., marking one of the last pieces of media released within the Disney Fairies multimedia franchise. The beloved characters were left alone for a long time, with fans growing less confident of the return with each passing year. No movies, no dolls, no books.

That was until Feb. 4, 2025, when “Wings of Starlight” by Allison Saft was published. The young adult romance novel is an official release from Disney that focuses on the backstory of Queen Clairon and Lord Milori. Fans received the novel with ecstatic reviews, with a 4.1-star rating on Goodreads. For a while, it was the only piece of media associated with Disney Fairies.

The comeback unlocked childhood memories, as most fans of the franchise have grown up to become college students and working adults by now.

On Feb. 4, 2026, a special surprise was released to fans of the YA novels. A graphic novel version of “Wings of Starlight” was published on WEBTOON, with art by Sara Cerutti and Claudia Cocci. A print version of the adapted novel was released on May 5, 2026, while volume 2 is set to release on May 25, 2027.

The art is stunning, and really allows your mind to fulfill the vision of Pixie Hollow and the characters in a new form that isn’t quite animation.

Then another announcement was made: “Wings of Reverie” by Anna Bright would be released on Aug. 4, 2026. This book would focus on Periwinkle, Tinkerbell’s sister, as well as her romance with an original character created for the book referred to as Weaver.

Once again, Pixie Hollow gained another romance novel involving the characters of the Winter Woods. This was a huge difference from the movies, where there wasn’t much character development with these characters. It was a chance for fans to see more into their personalities and thoughts.

After being released, the book claimed its spot on the New York Times Best Seller list during its debut week of release. On Goodreads, the book has a combined rating of 3.8.

Fans hope the series will continue, giving glimpses into the stories of other companion characters such as Vidia, Silvermist, Fawn, Irridesa and Zerena. Some fans hope for a continuation of the focus on the romance of Queen Clarion and Lord Milori.

As for the future of the franchise in general, it is rumored from the SAG-AFTRA website that there will be a reboot of the animation of Tinker Bell, continuing with “Tinker Bell & The Glitter City,” but no additional information has been released.

Disney+ also has a live-action Tinker Bell series called “Tink” in the works. It will be an eight-episode coming-of-age drama following Tinker Bell in a steampunk, industrial environment.

Overall, the Tinker Bell franchise has finally gotten the reboot it deserved, and lots of fans are excited to see what’s next.
