Fall Is Here, And I’m Romanticizing Every Second Of It

The leaves are changing, the drinks are getting sweeter, the weather is getting colder, and I’m definitely entering my fall-girl era.

Something about these first few weeks of fall gives me that urge to get my life together.

Maybe it’s the cooler weather, the fun fall activities, my birthday coming up, or just the simple fact that I can wear a cute, cozy outfit without sweating through it. No matter what it may be, fall always makes me feel an urge to romanticize my life more. When fall comes, I suddenly don’t mind studying, walking to class in the morning doesn’t feel like a chore, and not going out on the weekend excites me.

Fall is honestly just one of those seasons that makes me feel like I get a fresh start without actually having to start over at all, and this year I am taking full advantage of that.

The Fall Wardrobe Has Officially Entered the Chat

One of my all-time favorite things about fall is that I get to dress for the weather instead of dressing around it.

I don’t necessarily need to buy new clothes to make a good outfit. I can throw on an oversized jacket and some boots with a pair of knitted socks, and it makes the outfit so much better. It feels new, and I don’t have to worry about sweating.

There is also something about the standard fall colors that makes the outfits better. Burgundy, cream, brown, and orange all complement each other so well, and if I’m honest, they take over my closet entirely during this season.

Seasonal Drinks Are a Personality Trait

I don’t make the rules, but the fall-flavored drinks just taste so much better.

Whether it’s a hot or iced pumpkin, apple, or even just a simple chai-flavored drink, it always brightens my day. Sitting down to get my schoolwork done is so much easier than it is without one.

Seasonal drinks are always one of the easiest ways to make a boring, ordinary day just a little more exciting.

Romanticizing My Walks

Fall is probably the best time to take a long walk to nowhere.

The foliage is beautiful, the weather is cooler, so I’m not pouring sweat, the pictures of nature make for the best Instagram story post, and I don’t feel the need to stare at my phone out of boredom the whole time.

Having friends or even some music playing on these walks makes them even better. I absolutely adore my fall playlist, and I think everyone should have one because it sets the mood and makes things more exciting than they usually tend to be. Plus, who doesn’t love to make a new playlist for a new season?

Make Plans To Actually Look Forward To

An easy way to make fall feel special is to make fun plans.

A new season, especially fall, means there are so many different activities to do. I personally like to go apple picking, go to haunted hayrides with my friends, bake fall treats, have a bonfire, or even watch football.

It doesn’t always have to be some big Pinterest-worthy event. And honestly, sometimes the best plans are ones that are thrown together at the last minute or done on a whim.

Have a Cozy Night In

Not every day or weekend needs to be productive.

Sometimes you just need to throw on a comfortable set, light a nice candle, watch a comfort movie, and ignore the dreaded to-do list.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking a night to do nothing and recharging the social battery.

Let Fall Be Fall

I often put too much pressure on myself to make seasons perfect that I forget to actually take a step back and enjoy it.

Not every day needs to look like a Pinterest board, and honestly, it’s not going to. However, fall can still be a beautiful season on its own without any extra activities added.

Take the long walk back from class, take the pictures without knowing where to post them, and make the random plans.

Eventually, all the leaves are going to fall off the trees, and I know I’ll be wishing to go back to these months and these little moments in the future.
