Every year, when Dancing with the Stars comes on, people debate who is the best and who has the unfair advantage. I just love to watch them dance. Making my own ranking list and guessing who is going to win are my favorite parts about the show. Here’s my ranking, as of week two, from my favorite couple to the one I wasn’t too sad to see get eliminated.
1. Ezra frech & daniella karagach
Wow. I am genuinely in awe of these two, and I’m calling it right now that these are who I have winning. Their first dance blew my mind and I didn’t think it could get better, and then week two happened. I love how they are really highlighting his prosthetic and are finding ways to work around the complications that come with it. If the competition keeps going the way it has been, I’m ready for him to join the cast as a pro next season.
2. harry shum jr. & jenna johnson
Before this season, I knew Harry Shum Jr. from Shadowhunters, and I’m obsessed with the fact that I get to see Magnus Bane on DWTS. I think he’s the best technical dancer on the show, and because of that he’s able to put more emphasis on putting on a show. Every time he takes the stage, he brings emotion and performance into it. I think his technique and versatility are his biggest assets.
3. jenna dewan & val chmerkovisky
They’re so talented, you can really tell that Jenna Dewan knows how to dance. I only know Dewan from The Rookie, so it’s insane to see how talented she is at dancing. It’s so hard to put her this low on my list, but it’s because she’s at a similar place to Shum Jr. Her dance skills are all there, and her performance is too. I just need her to “Wow” me more moving forward.
4. amber glenn & pasha pashkov
I love Amber Glenn, especially as a figure skater, I love seeing my sport being represented in the media. You can absolutely tell that she is a professional athlete from the way she dances. I loved her choreography and how this team is highlighting the strength she has from skating. I have a feeling she is going to go far in the competition. I may be biased as a figure skater myself, but I will be voting “Amber” 10 times every Tuesday night!
5. julia stiles & ezra sosa
I am obsessed with this pairing. Julia Stiles is one of my favorite actresses (and we have the same name which is a plus). These two just look like they are having so much fun. Stiles can definitely improve throughout the weeks, but even now her dances are really impressive!
6. maura higgins & mark ballas
I was so impressed by these two. I thought Maura Higgins was really going to struggle, but week one she outshined everyone. Honestly, I think she has a chance to win, depending on how the rest of the show goes. I am totally rooting for her, and I really hope to see her in the finale.
7. connor wood & rylee arnold
I love their chemistry and the choreography is so good. In my opinion, if Connor Wood relaxes a little bit more, they will be amazing. I think they are both so cute and work really well together. They are so fun to watch, and I really look forward to seeing how they develop throughout the show.
8. jackson olson & emma slater
Honestly, I like Jackson Olson, and I think he’s doing a great job on the show. He’s hitting every step and doing all his choreography full out. I think he just needs to work on his technique, and he could do really well. He dances like Shum Jr. dances, with the same wow factor, he just doesn’t have the same technique. But I have high hopes for Olson.
9. tyler cameron & sharna burgess
I thought their night one dance was OK, but week two Tyler Cameron was so much better. I don’t know if it was him as a dancer or the choreography, but I definitely see a lot of potential.
9. ciara miller & brandon armstrong
I think she has grown the most as a dancer out of everyone in the cast. Her first dance looked more like she was going through the motions, but her second dance blew me away; that girl can tango. She improved so much from week one to week two. If she can improve that much in one week, I can’t wait to see what happens as the season goes on!
11. taylor hanson & britt stewart
I can definitely tell that he is trying really hard, but he doesn’t really have the technique and he has to focus on how he is performing. He needs to work on technique and not be in his head. But I think he is doing really well and I’m excited to see what he comes up with next week!
12. tatyana ali & jan ravnik
I love Tatyanna Ali’s dancing, but I think she is very similar to Hanson in technical level. (Hanson just improved more this week.) She has so much potential to improve though, and I am so excited to see her growth throughout the season.
13. giada de laurentiis & alan bersten
I really like Giada De Laurentiis! I loved her as a kid, and it’s so full circle to see her now on DWTS. I throught she did really well on her first dance, she danced the choreography beautifully. However, I think her second dance was downhill from her first. I think it’s so amazing that she put herself out there and performed as well as she did, and even though she got eliminated, I still root for her as a person!
14. guillermo rodriguez & witney carson
I love that Guillermo Rodriguez is doing DWTS, and his dances are so fun to watch! He definitely doesn’t have the same technique that the other dancers have, but he does have good stage presence and he is really going for it, which is amazing. During their week two dance, the choreography was so much fun! I want to see more dances like that from him moving forward.
15. sarah jane nader & hailey bills
I really wish I could put them higher, but the timing was really bad. I love their dynamic, but I think their dance could have been so much better. I am definitely going to miss their TikToks, but I’m glad I still get to see Hailey on the show.
16. connor leavitt & adele zaikman
Their dance was definitely my least favorite dance in all ways. I didn’t like the costumes, music, or choreography. I’m sad that Adele Zaikman got eliminated so quickly, but this dance didn’t do it for me.
I loved watching all the dances and seeing everyone improve from week one to week two. It’s incredible what just one week of work can do to a dancer. I can’t wait to see the stars develop as the season goes on!
