“All of the girls in them unknown cities, You’re so unique and your face so pretty,” Adela sings in her lead single, “Ain’t In L.A.,” from her debut album, “Prima.”Â
On September 4th, 2026, Adela released her debut album “Prima.” The album features 11 different tracks. Adela Jergovia was formerly on the K-pop reality TV show “Dream Academy” back in 2023. She debuted as a solo artist with the EP “The Provocateur.” “Prima was written over the course of 2023 and 2026. The genre is mainly pop with elements of electro-pop and R&B. Many of the tracks explore themes of insecurity, toxic relationships, success, and personal identity.Â
“Ain’t in LA” is an anthem for immigrants or people who are not from L.A. “I moved to L.A, four years ago, but I’m originally from Slovakia, which is, like, a really small country in central Europe. And I really love living in L.A. I actually think it’s a really great place, and I have amazing friends here and a home here. But I wrote this next song, and I was thinking about how L.A. is what it is because of all the immigrants, just like myself, and all the other transplants from all the other states too in the US,” she tells fans in a live performance. Many other fans interpret “Ain’t In L.A.” as a song about how you do not have to be from L.A. to achieve your dreams.Â
“Nicole Kidman” is also another song on the track based on actress Nicole Kidman. Kidman is best known for her roles in “Moulin Rouge” and “Practical Magic.” Stated in an interview with W Magazine, “Nicole Kidman” is a song about how confident she felt in a corset she wore when she went to the Golden Globes. In the music video, Adela recreates many iconic scenes from Nicole Kidman’s acting career. There are also references to Adela being on a swing from “Moulin Rouge” and her iconic AMC commercial.Â
“KGB” is the leading single off the album. The song talks about her being Slovak, her experience learning about American pop culture, and the hard work of breaking into the music industry. The song also acts as a get-to-know-me and introduction to her brand. She uses the former Soviet secret police agency as a way to show her hard work as an immigrant.Â
