Television’s biggest night returned for its 78th year, and the celebrities definitely showed out on the red carpet. From effortless tailoring to pastel colors, the stars’ fashion was just as good and memorable as their performances. Here are my favorite looks from this year’s Emmy Red Carpet:
- Zendaya
-
It’s no surprise that Zendaya is on this list. She truly never misses on a red carpet. The two-time Emmy winner dazzled in Prada. The dress featured diamond beading over a sheer base with a plunging neckline. Paired with baby pink heels and silver jewelry from Mikimoto, her look completely stole the show. Although she didn’t leave with the Emmy for her performance as Rue in Euphoria, she definitely left her mark on the carpet.
- Emma D’Arcy
-
The queen has arrived. No one looked cooler on the Emmy red carpet. They hit the carpet in a flowy suit from Japanese menswear label Sochiotsuki. The tailoring was impeccable, with an oversized jacket and high-waisted trousers. The fit gave D’Arcy an effortless look that only the heir of the Iron Throne could possess.
- Dexter Sol Ansell
-
Dexter Sol Ansell left his mark at his Emmy debut. The 12-year-old breakout star, known for playing Egg in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, was easily one of the best-dressed there. He wore a cream suit with the left shoulder completely bedazzled in silver beading. The unique detailing elevated an otherwise classic look and made him stand out on the carpet.
- Ayo Edibiri
-
Ayo Edibiri’s fashion sense is unmatched. The Bear star hit the carpet in a classy, Old Hollywood-inspired look. She wore a light blue dress with a V-neck and a bustled skirt, topping off the look with a bright orange-red bow adorned on the back. Paired with minimal jewelry and a messy bun, the dress spoke for itself.
- Meg Stalter
-
Comedian, show creator, Broadway star…fashion icon. Meg Stalter does it all. She showed up to the Emmy red carpet dressed like the actual Emmy statue. Painted completely gold from head to toe, she wore a gold bra and matching shorts. She even had a pair of gold wings and held the gold sphere from the statue. It wouldn’t be an awards show without Stalter completely stealing the spotlight and consistently raising the bar.
- Sarah Pidgeon
-
Sarah Pidgeon went the sleek, minimalistic route at this year’s Emmys and absolutely nailed it. The star, known for playing Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy in Love Story, hit the carpet in a custom lilac Chanel dress. The asymmetrical gown featured a plunging neckline and an open back adorned with silver and gold beaded straps. She paired the look with a Chanel 18-karat white gold and diamond necklace. She looked effortlessly stunning on the carpet and definitely left her mark.
- Paul W. Downs
-
Paul W. Downs, known for co-creating and starring in Hacks, looked dapper on the carpet. He wore a classic dark navy Louis Vuitton suit paired with a stunning gold flower pin. An open-collar white shirt finished off the outfit, making it one of my favorite looks of the night.
- Sheryl Lee Ralph
-
Sheryl Lee Ralph’s outfit was almost as iconic as she is. Wearing a fitted, strapless gown covered in green, gold and pink sequins, she looked incredible. The dress, although simple in silhouette, felt original and fit the previous Emmy winner perfectly. With silver jewelry and her hair styled in loose waves, she looked stunning in her Sergio Hudson gown.
- Supriya Ganesh
-
The Pitt star’s ice-blue dress was one of my favorites from the night. Making her first Emmys appearance as a nominee, she wore a sleek McQueen gown. The simple silhouette featured ruffles and beautiful sheer draping in the front, giving it an almost short-in-the-front, long-in-the-back effect. Paired with silver jewelry and platform blue heels, her elegance was evident on the carpet.
- Elle Fanning
-
Elle Fanning is known not only for her breakout performances but also for her glamorous looks every award season. This year was no different. She hit the carpet in a custom jade green Ralph Lauren gown. The gown looked almost like a second skin, fitting her perfectly. The fabric consisted of glass beads and shimmered on the carpet. She wore Cartier silver earrings to complete the look.
From bold statement pieces to classic silhouettes, this year’s Emmys red carpet had no shortage of memorable looks. Whether they took a risk or kept it simple, these stars proved that sometimes fashion can be just as exciting as the awards themselves.
