PDK NINE is a coffee shop located in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. The wide variety of flavors available and the rotation of their menu pair perfectly with the vibe they curate, which is unlike other traditional coffee shops!
1.) PDK NINE features board games in their cafe. Lining the walls are over 800+ board games, perfect for a couple people, groups of friends, or a solo moment! With that variety, there are multiple options for everyone available! It curates an ambiance that is unlike traditional coffee shops, with antique-looking furniture and different seating types (tables, chairs, countertops, etc.)
2.) They also feature tabletop gaming, collectibles, art, and collaborative events with the community. This coffee shop is perfect for going alone for a quiet study spot, but also the perfect place for a bustling environment to meet new people and support new local artists! With trivia nights, bingos, speed dating events, special game nights, events, item promotions, and more, you are bound to find an activity that piques your interest with people who feel the same!
3.) They are ALWAYS up to date. What does their social media have to do with their shop you might ask? A lot actually. Coffee shops constantly rotate menus, have special events, or need to announce important updates. Though they and other shops have websites, most of the action of consumers come from social media. A lot of other shops have either websites or social media accounts that not may always be the most updated. With PDK NINE, it is such a small detail that they execute phenomenally. Their website is easy to navigate, and their socials always have their monthly calendar available with giveaways, promotions, closures, notices, etc.
4.) Their menu is diverse and perfect for all palates. They offer small bites as food, however, they are located in the Ark Road Plaza, so there are many food options nearby. They encourage customers to bring their own food or try out a place nearby and sit in their cafe. Their matchas, teas, lemonades, coffees, etc. are made in-house. Their board of specials have never missed, and they feature items such as house-made cola, lotus energy, floats, pistachio, tahini, coconut, ube, blackberry, cheesecake, etc. Their menu of regular items also feature a multitude of other syrups flavors that are sure to please each palate. The staff also are incredibly knowledgable, and their coconut matcha recommendation is, to this day, my favorite drink.
5.) Finally, PDK NINE is underrated. Their location did not have a sign for the longest time, and their hours are from 12-8pm and 6pm on Sundays. This might not be conducive for an early morning, but it is perfect for the evening time after a long day of work to have a space to relax. The surrounding area has multiple plazas, so you can go shopping, the gym, get groceries, etc. and know that you can get a delicious drink right nearby!
I continuously go to PDK NINE, and having tried their coffee, matcha, and cola, I’ve never had a bad drink. The people working there are always incredibly helpful and the absolute sweetest. Being there when there is not much traffic to study was the perfect lock-in environment, but also accidentally being there during their Dungeons and Dragons event was such a fun vibe!
