Welcome back to another article guys! I hope your week is going well and that you are finding some peace and joy this week. This week a friend and I decided to pick a book to read together and chat about. This book is one that I started recently after watching its TV adaptation on Apple TV. It is called The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave. I have been intrigued while reading it so far, so I am excited to finish it and read its sequel. Getting back into reading with this book has inspired me to share with you all some of the books that are on my list to read. Here are a few:Â
- The Cousins by Karen M. McManusÂ
This book has been on my list for quite some time actually. I have been trying to finish this book for over a year now (which I know is crazy…). The book is labeled as a thriller/mystery, which is a genre that my roommates and I have really been into this semester. It is about a group of estranged cousins who go to visit the island resort of their estranged grandmother, who disowned their parents and as a result they’ve never met. They begin to uncover secrets in their family history while there. Now I unfortunately have only gotten through the first couple of chapters, but from what I did read, the book seems like one I will love. I hope to finish the book soon, preferably by the end of the year! Â
- The Night We Lost Him by Laura DaveÂ
This book is written by the same author as the book I am currently reading. I put this on my list after watching The Last Thing He Told Me and searching for books by the same author. It follows two siblings searching for answers behind their father’s mysterious death. The book is also a thriller/mystery, so it fits perfectly into the recent reading I’ve been doing. This book is definitely one I am going to read in the near future.Â
- My Husband’s Wife by Alice FeeneyÂ
I added this book to my list after hearing a very detailed and intriguing book review from my roommate. Perhaps one day I can get her to make a recap series on our chapter’s social media! From her description, this book is about a happily married woman who one day goes for a run and when she returns home, she finds the locks have been changed and that there is a new woman there who looks exactly like her. Her husband pretends to not know her and the mysterious woman claims to be her. This leads to the main character having to fight to prove her identity, leading to a world of other problems, twists, and danger. Now even though I know the whole plot, I feel that it would be interesting to read the plot from the author’s perspective and maybe pick up details that my roommate may have forgotten.Â
If you guys are into these types of books, I hope that you find these recommendations valuable in some way.
