FX’s Adults season two officially premiered on August 27th, 2026. This funny, relatable show only got more iconic with the release of its second season. With that being said, here is my whole review of Adults season two!
This season focuses on Issa and Paul Baker’s breakup, Billie feeling content with where she is in life, Samir in his boyfriend era, the continued spark between Anton and Paul Baker, and a surprising plot twist between two other roommates.
I could feel the lead-up to Issa and Paul Baker breaking up just from how last season left off. I felt like it was needed, especially for the build-up between him and Anton, but seeing how Issa was after the breakup did make me sad. Billie bringing Issa out to purposely try to help her get over Paul Baker, and then it immediately backfiring because Issa started acting weird is so relatable. This was like freshly after they broke up, so no wonder she wasn’t into it.
Speaking of Billie, I really wish I was more team Billie, but I genuinely got the ick when she went up to the girl who has her fake ID at the club and tried calling her out for not wanting to go out with her. Billie is 25, and this girl is like 18. Genuinely had to take a deep breath after seeing that interaction. I feel like Billie really does miss being young, which is understandable, but sometimes the way in which she goes about it is so cringey.
Next up, we have Samir in his boyfriend era with Carly. I really do think that Samir and Carly were so cute together, and he was so supportive of her. He really was such a good boyfriend and was ready to drop everything to move with her to Seattle for her job, but then they broke up. She didn’t want him to drop his life in New York just for her, so she broke up with him. I won’t lie, I cried. I felt so bad because they really were perfect for each other, and seeing how sad Samir was. What made it funny was Paul Baker’s other friends continuing with the surprise that Samir had put on for Carly to tell her that he was moving with her.
Also, side note, but Paul Baker having another friend group that acts like total frat guys is so funny to me. Just hearing him talk and interact with them was genuinely one of my favorite parts of this season. Them, and of course Zack Carlos. He is an absolute icon, and seeing him on my screen again this season was such a joy.
Anyways, now for the build-up between Anton and Paul Baker. I absolutely love them together; I wish there was more lead up earlier in the season as opposed to the very end, only because season one kinda left off on them a little bit. Any moments they had, though, were so nice to see because you do see how much they actually care about each other. I also love how supportive Issa was about them in the last episode. She said as long as she still has Anton in her life, that’s all that matters because that friendship means more to her than anything else. Issa really was that girl this season.
Last, we have the plot twist of the season. I can’t lie, though; I called this from season one immediately, but finally seeing it happen was still shocking. Samir and Billie getting together was on my bingo card. It was almost destined to happen, like they know each other better than anyone else; they have been friends forever, and I feel like it is just so canon. I’m curious to see how they go about telling the others, or if they even do.
Overall, I really enjoyed season two of Adults! It felt very consistent, and it had me laughing every episode. I can’t wait for season three, assuming that they would renew it again. I give season two a solid 8.5/10!
