On August 26, outside of UCF’s Student Union building, students gathered for a chance to “spin to win” with SHEIN Campus.

After stopping at UNC Charlotte and North Carolina A&T, UCF was the brand’s third stop of seven this semester in its largest back-to-school initiative yet. As the largest university in the state, with over 70,000 students enrolled, it is no surprise that the University of Central Florida is the only Florida campus on the SHEIN Campus experiential tour this season as they look to scout future ambassadors.

Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., a line of students stood ready to spin the wheel, which had five possible options: a lanyard, hand sanitizer, a trucker hat, a headband, or a fanny pack that you picked up from the SHEIN campus cart.

With an all-pink setup, it wasn’t hard to find this unique pop-up mart, even around a busy location like the Student Union. Details included many pink items, of course, but also a mirror for pictures, a pink bench, and even custom newspapers with a cover that read “ SHEIN is Here,” draped in cubbies at the front of the SHEIN Campus mart.

UCF student Bianca Molinaro was among those who applied for the ambassador program and shared how much she liked the tote bag while she waited in line. Although having shopped with SHEIN a “decent amount,” this was her first brand event she’s been a part of.

With some form of engagement with the brand’s social media accounts (TikTok, Instagram, or the SHEIN app), including a like, follow, and repost, students got one free spin on the wheel. However, those applying to be future SHEIN Campus ambassadors got an additional spin and a free tote bag.

The Campus Ambassador Program, the core of the event, connects student creators nationwide through fashion, career development opportunities, networking, and exclusive campus experiences. It’s not just the students enjoying the visits; current SHEIN Campus ambassadors like Samantha Gonell, originally from Miami, shared what her favorite part of these events is.

“Honestly, I think I love the activation,” Gonell said. “It’s so cute, and everyone has great energy. I get to meet a lot of new people.”

After a successful first tour, this marketing initiative has proven successful enough to go international. SHEIN Canada announced the launch of its SHEIN Campus ambassador program on the same day SHEIN Campus visited UCF. With a sponsorship from the Toronto Metropolitan Student Union (TMSU), their expansion will begin at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU).

With over 17,000 current ambassadors across the United States, the ambassador program has much potential to grow as the tour continues across the U.S. East Coast and Southeast regions.
