The annual mock beauty pageant starring select Siena students raises money for Habitat for Humanity, an international organization that works towards providing affordable housing to those who need it. Habitat has built more than 500,000 homes for more than 2 million people worldwide. The organization was founded in 1976 and has been helping low-income families find affordable housing ever since.
Her Campus Siena: What is your name, school year, and major at Siena?
George Ghobriel: I am George Ghobriel. I am a Senior, who majors in Business Concentrations and Corporate Finance / Accounting Theory and Foundations
HCS: What made you want to become involved with Mr. Siena?=
GG: Habitat for Humanity is a phenomenal organization that aims to help 1000’s of people each and every day, not only providing affordable housing, but also financial literacy and a plethora of additional resources. I also just like making a fool out of myself on stage purely for your entertainment.
HCS: Have you done any service trips? If so, where?=
GG: Yes; Myrtle Beach, SC [and] Cairo, Egypt
HCS: Let’s give the people some hints…what special talent might we see at Mr. Siena?
GG: I don’t play any instruments, but still make a ton of noise
HCS: What would you like to say to the people of Siena?
GG: Vote me for Class President! Oh, this is for what? Mr. Who now? Oh okay yeah would love to be Mr. Siena too. Let’s go with that.
