As we approach May, the graduation date is almost here. As I reflect on my four years and 3 years of HerCampus I truly appreciate my journey to this point. HerCampus was one of the few clubs I had joined here at Scranton, and I am so glad my friend told me to take that jump to try something new. As a student who have always revolved my world in my studies HerCampus allowed me to do something for myself and meet new people.
My friend was the one to introduce me to HerCampus and the friends I have met during HerCampus are my best friends even today. This club also allowed me to attend events to do with my friends and meet new more friends! My favorite event while in HerCampus were the coffee crawls, they were a fun way to explore the Scranton area that I might not have seen before. As a very shy and timid person my freshman year I didn’t have the courage to make new friends or explore the area, but HerCampus allowed me to lower my walls and try new things.
Not only have I felt the impact of the HerCampus community, but this club also gave me a chance to speak my mind while writing and bring my passions to articles. I love how open this club is to any ideas and ways to express yourself. My favorite article I have written was about my experience with anxiety as I entered college and this article was something I was really proud of and how HerCampus gave me the opportunity to share my story and help others.
As I take my grad pictures, put on cap and gown, I will never forget this experience that HerCampus gave me. HerCampus made a huge impact on my life not only for my expression in writing but the family I made while I was there. As I will continue my education journey at Scranton for grad school, I will continue to use my experience from HerCampus to bring happiness to others.
