MY FAVORITE SONGS RIGHT NOW

The past couple of months have been big ones for us girls: Noah Kahan, Ella Langley, Harry Styles, Megan Moroney and Olivia Rodrigo (me being “girls”). Here are some of my favorites of the month if you happen to need new songs to add to your playlist, and this is, of course, subject to change as more and more artists release masterpieces like these.

Drop Dead by Olivia Rodrigo

Omg, love this one. I think this was a perfect single for her album, which I am beyond excited for. I normally am not big on a lot of the songs artists choose as their singles but I think this was an amazing pick. A lot of the time, new songs sound like other songs I have heard, but this one has such a unique and fun tune to it. Also, “looking like an angel on the walls of Versailles”… are we kidding? I actually don’t know if I can handle her album coming out if they are all as lovely as this one.

Haircut by Noah Kahan

Wow. I love the beat but the lyrics almost killed me. I think if I smile and dance while I sing it, the lyrics won’t be as sad- just maybe? But I do just really love the bridge and the tune of it. One thing about Noah is that he will make a mean folk song and a fire beat, with terrifying lyrics.

Bottom of Your Boots by Ella Langley

When I first listened to this song in the car with one of my friends, I said out loud, “Oh, that’s cute”- so yeah, it’s a super cute song. I think I just really like her lyricism in this song and her catchy main line. “Better love me to the moon and back, from the bottom of your boots to the top of your hat,” like shut up.

Wedding Dress by Megan Moroney

I am not a die-hard Megan Moroney fan, but I did give this album a listen and have liked it mixed in with my playlists. This was probably one of the only ones that stuck with me. I always love slow and sad country songs. It is one of those songs where you aren’t really listening until one of the lines, and you’re like “oh that’s good”, yeah, that’s how I felt with the bridge.

American Girls by Harry Styles

I just love this album, honestly. I know there were mixed reviews on it, but I thought it was lovely. This song probably has my favorite beat and is just so catchy. I think you should add any of these songs from his album, and you won’t be disappointed- but this should be at the top of the list!
