Whether you are looking to sit down for a cram session for physics or simply looking to make sense of that sex and zombies class, finals week turns every coffee spot into a second home. Suddenly, the tables are filled with notes, laptops glowing late at night, and students are fighting with time to remember everything from the entire semester. Looking for the perfect guide to coffee shops near campus? Don’t worry, you’re in the right place!
City Roots
★★★★★
I consider this a hidden gem across the board. Their blackberry cobbler latte is to die for, and the rustic vibe, warm natural lighting, and thoughtful layout make it the perfect productivity sanctuary. If your ideal study session includes good vibes and great coffee, this is the place to be!
The Vintage
★★★★☆
The Vintage stands for its cozy, old-school library feel. The peaceful nooks and speakeasy atmosphere make it the perfect spot to settle in with a great coffee and your laptop. The coffee is amazing and definitely the highlight. The beignets were slightly overdone, but bonus points for the boozy beverages!
La Davina
★★★☆☆
This is the perfect place for a delicious meal and a productive study session. I’ve been obsessed with the Caesar wrap since the first bite, and the gelato selection makes for the perfect sweet treat study break. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance of social and quiet spaces, with plenty of tables for collaboration. The occasional live music adds to its charm. It’s definitely a great pick whether you’re catching up with friends or locking in for exams.
Pura vida
★★☆☆☆
Pura Vida has its moments, but the coffee can be hit or miss. I will say, the banana matcha from the Roller Rabbit pop-up was a standout and tasted incredibly fresh. Still, it seems a little pricey for what you get. The lack of boozy beverages is a slight letdown, especially since the space gives off a late-night bar vibe. I wouldn’t necessarily call it cozy, given the egregious number of high-top tables dominating the main floor. The second-floor overlook is easily the saving grace, adding some much-needed character with its more relaxed feel. The biggest drawback, though, is the hours. Closing so early makes it less ideal for students searching for reliable late-night study spots.
