Her Campus UNCO’s Favorite Study Spots on Campus

Finals week is steadily approaching, and as much as you and I don’t want to think about it, it’s time to to lock in. Her Campus UNCO’s favorite study spots on campus can help you take the time to study, whether it be on a busy grass spot or a completely isolated classroom.

Michener Library

Michener Library is a huge building, so there are many spots to study in. With Bears Coffee Shop right near the entrance, the first floor is always buzzing with the traffic of students coming and going and has a comfortable amount of white noise, which Alana loves when she starts her study sessions.

Julie prefers sitting in the open space on Michener’s 2nd floor so she can have accountability buddies, whether it’s her friends or the stranger two tables over. When they can get into one, Aries studies best in the single study rooms on the 2nd floor. These rooms are nice for private study sessions, but you’ve got to be fast and can get there before anyone else can steal them.

Brooke‘s choice is Michener’s 3rd floor. As the only designated quiet area in the building, the 3rd floor is nice if you need complete peace and quiet while you study.

CLASSROOMS AND CAMPUS BUILDINGS

Michener Library is most frequented by the divas of Her Campus UNCO, but if you want a different place, several of us study in specific classrooms or campus buildings.

As one of the larger buildings on West Campus, Ross Hall has quite a few spots you can study in for finals! Sara loves to study in the English computer lab (Ross 1240) for silence and less interruptions, and Abby prefers the 3rd floor corner for her study sessions. Jo is always in Ross, so studying in the quiet basement hallway between classes is peaceful for them.

Kinsley‘s go-to spot is the podcast studio for naps. Some studying gets done, too, but when you’re as busy as Kinsley, it’s important to get a nap in before grinding out those assignments or studying sessions.

White noise in the form of the busiest campus building is what keeps Maddi locked in during her study sessions. The University Center is home to the bookstore, several restaurants, and many events. Maddi loves the overstimulation that this busy center provides.

Have you ever worked on assignments in classes that assignment is not for? Lindsay likes to do their work in other professors’ classes for this exact reason. As they say: “There’s nothing more freeing than not doing in-class work in class. The best way to do that is by doing work that’s completely irrelevant to the class you’re already in.”

OUTDOORS And OFF Campus

With Finals Week approaching, warm and wonderful weather comes with it, and a few of Her Campus UNCO’s divas love to study in the sun. Rose likes to study at the tables outside Holmes Dining Hall. This place has so many benches and two quads in which you could lay out a blanket and study, too.

Our designated outdoorsy person, Sasha, loves to hammock outside McKee Hall. On the south side of McKee, most of the trees are close enough to string up your hammock and do a little reading under the canopy of blue sky and trees. Jenny’s favorite spot is any grass area. Even with Colorado’s dry weather, UNCO’s campus has some really great grass spots to put down a blanket and study away while catching those rays.

Last but certainly not least, Hannah‘s favorite study spot is Margie’s Java Joint. Just off of 16th street and across the street from Central Campus, Margie’s is the place to be for most of UNCO’s student body. It’s the perfect coffee shop vibe for a long study session, and the coffee is great!

Her Campus UNCO’s divas wish you luck during the last week leading up to finals. Feel free to steal our study spots from time to time this week, and even next semester!
