My Top 5 Recommended Books for This Summer

Just For The Summer

This book gives golden retriever ‘IF HE WANTED TO HE WOULD’ MMC and a light-hearted, caring, and complex FMC! This book is genuinely the perfect summer read to lie out by the pool or the beach and just get lost in a summer read. I love the way Abby Jimenez writes her characters. They are so complex, but also joyful, and genuinely, I was rooting for Emma and Justin all the way! Did I mention its dual POV, too!

One Golden Summer

I always say it’s not summer without a Carley Fortune book! This book follows Charlie, Sam’s older brother from the first book, Every Summer After (I definitely recommend reading that book first before this one). Alice and Charlie decided that while they are at Barry’s Bay, to make a bucket list of things they want to accomplish this summer to help our FMC let loose. This book truly is the summer book: from getting ice cream to driving a boat, diving in a lake, and so much more! Not to mention Alice and Charlie have so much tension throughout this book, I promise you won’t want to put it down! (plus Every Summer After is becoming a TV show on Amazon Prime).

Final Offer

This is the third book in the Dreamland Billionaires trilogy, but it’s not only the best book in the series but also the most summer era. I mean, there literally is a strawberry festival! You’re following Cal and Alana, who were childhood soulmates, but then things got messy, and now they haven’t seen or talked to each other in years. And Cal comes back to sell his grandparents’ coastal townhouse and comes to find out that Alana’s name is on the deed, and let’s just say the tension is so real. This book deals a lot with alcohol substances, grief, and anxiety, so I would definitely look up the trigger warnings. It’s also dual POV, which makes the book so much fun, along with the coastal town they live in!

Till Summer Do Us Part

Gosh, this book is so hilarious, and if you’re looking for a fun and easy read, this book is def for you! The FMC Scottie basically lies to her job and says that she has a husband when in reality she is divorced and basically made up the lie because she wanted to fit in with her male-dominated workplace. So enter Wilder, who is her best friend’s brother, and he decided to pretend to be Scottie’s husband because he quite literally has nothing to do (no, I’m not kidding, he’s so bored he just decided to pretend to be in a marriage). Not only is it dual POV (my fav), but they both have to go on a camp retreat for the summer with all of Scottie’s co-workers and have to be in love. This book is such an easy read and genuinely will have you laughing out loud.

 Great Big Beautiful Life

I could not include this list without doing an Emily Henry book! Great Big Beautiful Life is genuinely one of my favorite books by her! The two characters are very grumpy and sunshine-coded, but with a twist. You follow two characters who are both writers and are in a competition with one another to see who gets to write the memoir for a famous heiress. And this is the first Emily Henry book where you get two POVs. A couple of things I love about this book are that by the end of the novel, you really know the town and the people living in it. And when you realize what the title of the book means… Chills, actual chills! There is something about the way Emily Henry writes that just scratches my brain in all the right places!
