2026 is the year for new music (and broke bank accounts, apparently). Have a favorite artist who hasn’t released anything new recently? Best believe they probably got something up their sleeve with the way the music industry is literally on fire, and we just started 2026! I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love the anticipation of a new album, a new era, and new merch that I will, in fact, give all my money to. Here is a list, not complete, of just a few of the upcoming album releases announced for 2026!

Broken View – Sam Barber (4/3)

“One of the genre’s fastest-rising and “most in-demand artists” (Rolling Stone), Barber has built a devoted global audience through deeply personal songwriting and an unfiltered perspective that resonates across generations. Raised on a farm in southeast Missouri, Barber began playing music as a teenager after picking up his great-grandfather’s Gibson guitar. Guided by his commitment to making music on his own terms, Barber has risen rapidly as a generational voice in country music and now lives in Bozeman, Montana.”

“Co-written and co-produced by Barber and Joe Becker (“Indigo,” “Straight and Narrow”) with additional songs co-produced with Aaron Dessner (Taylor Swift, Noah Kahan) at Long Pond Studio, Broken View serves as a sweeping and introspective reflection on life’s complexities, exploring themes of love, loss, and self-discovery. The new 13-song collection includes the recently released singles “Just A Kid” and “Borrowed Time,” the latter of which Whiskey Riff hailed as “stellar,” while Country Central praised its “undeniable addictive atmosphere.”

I am very excited about this album! I have listened to a good amount of his music, and I really enjoy a lot of it. Since this album was just released, I definitely plan on listening asap!

The World Is to Dig – They Might Be Giants (4/14)

“On April 14, that process yields The World Is to Dig, their 24th studio album, a title that doubles as a mission statement. The record finds the band doing what they’ve always done best—ricocheting between references high and low, sincerity and absurdity, Tin Pan Alley melody and left-field conceptual turns—without any apparent concern for where it lands in the broader culture.”

“I spoke with Flansburgh ahead of the album’s release and a sold-out two-night stand at Bearsville Theater on April 17 and 18, where the band will bring a full ensemble—and a deep, ever-shifting repertoire—to a crowd that, notably, still wants to hear the new songs. It’s a position most legacy acts never quite reach: not frozen in amber, not chasing youth, but still, somehow, in motion.”

Maybe I’m out of the loop, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard of this group before. But 24 albums, that’s insane! I might have to give it a listen!

KONNAKOL – ZAYN (4/17)

“KONNAKOL, ZAYN’s fifth studio album, is his most culturally inspired project to date. The pop-forward album expands on the sound fans first heard on his record-breaking debut studio album, Mind of Mine. KONNAKOL, in its definition, is the act of creating percussive sounds with one’s voice, but what it means to ZAYN lies somewhere much deeper. It is a sound that holds the reverberation of a time before words existed. Drawing on his own heritage for inspiration, this album is a development of that understanding, knowing more now than ever, who he is, where he comes from, and where he intends to go.”

It is the year of the directioner comeback; Harry Styles released an album, Zayn is releasing an album, AND Niall!! Consider me set for each one exactly at midnight because I know they are about to be fired.

The Great Divide – Noah Kahan (4/24)

“From a long silence forms a divide, a great expanse demanding attention. I stare across it. I see old friends, my father, my mother, my siblings, my younger self, and the great state of Vermont. I want to scream these feelings, to gesticulate wildly at the figures on the other side, but my voice has grown hoarse and muted after years of climbing a ladder towards the wild, spiraling dreams that have materialized in front of me. Instead, I wrote them down next to a piano in Nashville, next to a pond in Guilford, Vermont, in a legendary studio in upstate New York, on a farm with a firetower in Only, Tennessee. The songs are the words I would say if I could. They are the fears I dance with in the moments before I drift off to sleep. The music here is my best attempt to delve deeper into the people, places, and feelings that have made me who I am. I am grateful for all of it, for all of you, for listening to them, if you choose to do so.”

Produced by Stick Season collaborator Gabe Simon as well as new collaborator Aaron Dessner.”

UGH, I love Noah Kahan with all my heart. I am still mourning the fact that I didn’t get tickets to his concert. I don’t think he’s created a song that I didn’t love, so best believe I will be sitting and talking nonstop about this masterpiece of an album when it is released!

Kehlani – Kehlani (4/24)

“Alerting all Kehlani fans! The two-time Grammy winner is finally announcing the release of her highly anticipated new album. The self-titled Kehlani, the singer/songwriter’s fifth studio album, will arrive April 24. The upcoming album follows their last release, 2024’s Crash.

Citing the R&B star’s emotive vocals, insightful storytelling, and genre-bending sound, the announcement notes the self-titled project “presents Kehlani fully in her element — raw, reflective, and unapologetically herself.”

Dinner Party – Niall Horan (6/5)

“Niall Horan will release his fourth solo album, Dinner Party, on June 5. Calling it “a thank you to the past and a hello to the present,” the album features 12 new tracks shaped by love, intimacy, fear, loss, hope, and dreams. Cinematic yet organic, Dinner Party invites listeners to take a seat at the table and share in the warmth, wit, and sincerity that define the album.”

you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love – Olivia Rodrigo (6/12)

“In an interview with British Vogue, Rodrigo teased the direction of the new record, telling the outlet it was “a creative challenge to write from a joyful place.”

“When you’re experiencing that you’re connected to someone, or feeling really good, you’re not in your head thinking about bittersweet poems!” said the star, who was previously linked to British actor Louis Partridge.”

“You’re getting to the core of all of your issues: how you feel about yourself, your insecurities, what makes you joyful,” she said. “It feels like the most raw form of you, which is so scary and terrifying and uncomfortable, sometimes, but beautiful at times.”

Rodrigo previously opened up to PEOPLE ahead of the release of Guts in 2023 about her songwriting process and how she feared she’d be unable to top the monster success of her debut album.

“I think that I truly can’t write a song and pander. Good songs don’t come out of me writing to please other people,” she said. “All my best songs come from me just wanting to express something for myself and wanting to process a feeling just for me. Putting that out is sort of a later thought, but at the inception of a song, it’s just very insular. I can’t think about the other stuff.”

I about screamed when I saw her announce this on Instagram, I AM SO EXCITED!! Again, she has yet to make a song I don’t like, and that doesn’t punch me straight in the gut with her heart-wrenching lyrics. Once again, I will, in fact, be listening and talking non-stop about this album as soon as it is released!

Until The Sun Explodes – Sublime (6/12)

“After nearly 3 decades, Sublime returns with Until The Sun Explodes, their first full-length album with Jakob Nowell as front man, arriving June 12 on Atlantic Records. Featuring collaborations with H.R. of Bad Brains, Fletcher Dragge of Pennywise, G Love, and more, the album stays rooted in the band’s classic sound while opening a new chapter.”
