The 98th Academy Awards are just days away, and with much controversy and many conversations, these are my final predictions on the winners of the four acting awards, plus Best Picture!

Honestly, I think One Battle After Another has had this in the bag since the beginning of awards season. While Sinners is the most nominated film of all time, I just don’t think it will pull through for the biggest award of the night. Unfortunately, horror movies have a pretty bad track record when it comes to the Oscars, and for that reason, I think One Battle After Another will take it. BUT in a perfect world, Train Dreams would win, please Academy gods if you’re listening…

outstanding lead actor

NOW this is a hard category to call, but I really think Timothée Chalamet is going to take it. At this point, it is between him and Michael B. Jordan, but Chalamet has won almost every other award he has been nominated for this season. The two he lost to were Michael B. Jordan at the Actor Awards and Robert Aramayo at the BAFTAs. In a perfect world, I think Wanger Moura for The Secret Agent would be such a fun win. Jordan winning would come with an amazing speech, so I would love for him to win.

outstanding lead actress

Okay, there is not much to talk about in this category. Jessie Buckley for Hament has won every single award she has been nominated for this season. It will be a big deal if she doesn’t win. If I had to choose, I think I would pick Emma Stone in Bugonia. That movie is so much fun, and seeing it take home something would be cool.

Outstanding supporting actress

There has been so much conversation on this category. But my final prediction is Amy Madigan in Weapons. I know I said that horror never really wins, but I think this could be the expectation. Within this category, I think the top two contenders are Madigan and Teyana Taylor in One Battle After Another. Each actress has won a decent number of awards this season. Since 2010, only one woman who has won the Actor Award hasn’t won the Oscar, so because of this, I am betting on an Amy Madigan win.

outstanding supporting actor

This category is by far the hardest one of the night. Stellan SkarsgĂĄrd in Sentimental Value was at the top of my list this entire season… until Sean Penn (One Battle After Another) won the Actor Award and the BAFTA. I also think Delory Lindo in Sinners would be a fun win because he’s been in this industry for a while. My final prediction is gonna have to be Sean Penn. BUT in a perfect world, my man Benicio del Toro in One Battle After Another would be so much fun.
