March ushers in the beginning of spring, and with it, new releases of shows and movies for you to watch while you wait for the last weeks of winter–thanks, Punxsutawney Phil–to wind down. There is a lot of new media being released this month, but I rounded up some of the ones I’m most looking forward to!
Film
Release date: March 6, 2026
Theatrical release
Directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, the film takes inspiration from James Whale’s The Bride of Frankenstein (1935). Set in 1930s Chicago, it stars Jessie Buckley as the bride herself, who I loved in Hamnet, and Christian Bale as Frankenstein. The gothic noir aesthetic of the film looks stunning, and it’s exciting to see a fleshing out of the bride’s character, since she is usually characterized as just Frankenstein’s companion. The film’s website describes it as a “Murder! Possession! A wild and radical cultural movement! And outlaw lovers in a wild and combustible romance!” Consider me seated!
Release date: March 20, 2026
Theatrical release
The sequel to 2019’s Ready or Not, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, which followed newlywed Grace as she navigated a murderous, game-obsessed set of in-laws. Despite seemingly surviving the game in the last movie, it seems like she’s found herself in an even bigger one this time, with a whole ensemble of new rich people who want her dead, including horror icon Sarah Michelle Gellar. Samara Weaving was excellent as the lead of the first film–I mean, no one else could make a bloody wedding gown look that chic—and she is now joined by Kathryn Newton, who you may know from Lisa Frankenstein. The first film was such a wild and darkly fun time, and it seems like the sequel will follow in its footsteps.
Release date: March 25, 2026
Prime Video
A slasher meets ballerina action-thriller starring an ensemble of Gen Z actresses: Iris Apatow, Lana Condor, Avantika, Millicent Simmons, and Dance Moms alum Maddie Ziegler. The group of young American ballerinas get stranded at an inn in Budapest owned by a former ballerina, played by icon Uma Thurman, whom the girls soon realize may not be who she seems. Thurman herself described the film as “A vision of vengeance in bloody tutus. What’s not to love?”
Release date: March 27, 2026
Theatrical release
Okay, picture Lili Reinhart from Riverdale, Victoria Pedretti from You, Lola Tung from The Summer I Turned Pretty, and Alexander Shipp from Barbie all in a secret witchy cult being run out of a mall boutique. Oh, and they all have fruit nicknames, duh. Lili Reinhart, aka Apple, leads a coven with coworkers Pedretti and Shipp, but tensions flare when new hire, Tung, questions her. Think The Craft meets a 2000s mall comedy with over-the-top outfits and secrets. Camp movies and mall culture are so back.
Television
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Season 4
Release date: March 12, 2026
Hulu/Disney+
I don’t know if you’re as invested in the MomTok drama as I am, but I am so stoked for season 4. It feels like the third season just came out (cause it kinda did), but the moms are back for more. It’s sure to be as juicy, chronically online, and unbelievable as always. I loved watching Jenn and Whitney on this past season of Dancing with the Stars, which this season will cover the process of, and I need to know all the drama that went down behind the scenes.
The Bachelorette, Season 22
Release date: March 22, 2026
Hulu/Disney+
It is a big month for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul because she is also this spring’s bachelorette! Taylor has been historically known for her lack of a filter and poor decision-making, especially when it comes to men on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, so this season of The Bachelorette should not disappoint.
Hannah Montana: 20th Anniversary Special
Release date: March 24, 2026
Hulu/Disney+
Calling all Disney Channel kids!!! In honor of the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus will be doing a special for Disney+. She will be sitting down for an in-depth interview with Call Her Daddy’s Alex Cooper and showing never-before-seen archival footage from the show. I’m sure we can expect some great outfits, nostalgia, and hopefully a song or two!
