Winter Olympics fever is one of my favourite feelings. Along with cheering for your country, finding out what curling actually is, and choosing your favourite athletes through their sense of humour on social media (nobody could ever forget the Norwegian muffin man at Paris 2024), seeing – and judging – the team kits is a staple of the Olympic season.

It’s a big thing in the fashion world, too, with big players in the industry designing kits for the athletes. The Team Canada x lululemon collab for Olympic kits is iconic and is once again returning for the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Many of these kits are available to buy online, but they often carry a steep price tag. I love to get inspo from the Winter Olympics for my snowboarding gear, but I’m always hunting for a bargain.

With this in mind, I’ve put together a guide to my top 5 team kits for the 2026 Winter Olympics, along with some affordable dupes or similar-style pieces to incorporate some of the athleisure aesthetic into your life.

Note: All opinions are my own and based solely on the kit design, with no relation to the countries themselves. Product links are unsponsored and provided for inspiration; any purchases made are at the buyer’s discretion.

5: Brazil

Labelled as the most unlikely country-sponsor pairing of these Games, Moncler is dressing Brazil’s alpine skiers on and off the slopes. The French brand hasn’t designed a team kit for the Winter Olympics for 50 years, but I think its return has been executed in a quietly powerful way.

The kit design is not bright and standout, but is sleek and full of symbolism. Logos and patterns combine the Moncler ethos and Brazilian spirit, and plenty of different layers provide me with a lot of suggestions for similar styles.

The Brazilian kit is actually part of Moncler’s Fall/Winter drop if you are keen on sporting the exact styles, but if you’re looking for cheaper alternatives for the ski season, check out this softshell jacket from Dare2B, which is a great layer, both for the slopes and for braving the Scottish winter.

4: USA

Team USA is back and bigger than ever, with 232 athletes heading to the Games. All of them will once again be decked out in Ralph Lauren. Although it’s back in red, white, and blue, the kit takes a unique approach to the colour combo. The range of styles and how they fit together is a big reason Team USA made my list; this kit could slot perfectly into a capsule wardrobe

The Ralph Lauren sweater is iconic, but certainly not cheap! For an equally elevated look, check out jumpers like this one from Crew, or, if you like the USA puffer style, size up to a coat like this one from Bershka.

3: Great Britain

Adidas has designed kits for twelve countries for these Games, but Team GB makes it into this list as my favourite of them (not biased, I promise!). Like Team USA, Team GB will be wearing red, white, and blue, but in a very different style. There’s also a hint of pink, which just adds to the whole look without being too loud.

If you love the patterns and sleek designs of the Team GB kit, check out these leggings from BAM. They’re made from bamboo fibres, and not only are they sustainable for the planet, but they also hold up great in the gym and out and about.

2: Mongolia

Mongolian athletes will be wearing what may be the most detailed kit at these Winter Olympics, and the opening ceremony uniform is its pinnacle. Athletes will be styled in Goyol Cashmere, and they are utterly beautiful. The design is a nod to Mongolian culture, extending to the whole kit, including jumpers and scarves.

Cashmere isn’t often cheap, but keep an eye on sites like Uniqlo for sales on comfy, quality jumpers like this one.

Honourable Mention: Staff Uniform

Though not technically a team kit, I had to shout out the uniform the team of volunteers and workers bringing the Games to life will be wearing. If you like the co-ord loungewear style, check out some boardsports brands for great joggers like these.

1: Austria

A simple pattern goes a long way, and that’s why Austria has made it to the top of my list. The kit was designed by AlphaTauri (yes, by a Formula One team). The jackets would be my go-to for snowboarding, and having the same pattern across all their pieces really creates that capsule wardrobe feel.

If you like the idea of having several pieces with the same pattern, Burton might be the perfect fit for you, especially if you want matching layers for your snow sports.

I hope you enjoy some of these athleisure alternatives and enjoy watching some new sports; from big air to figure skating, there’s plenty to tune into and learn about! Watching the 2018 Winter Olympics kick-started my passion for snowboarding. But no matter what you watch, wear, or think of the team kits, keep an eye out for some incredibly inspiring female athletes, who can teach us lots about life beyond sports and what we wear.
