Tell Me Lies has taken the internet by storm; the week-to-week drop is turning into a push-and-pull of torture. The secondhand embarrassment is awful, but it keeps drawing us back in. As much as each character frustrates us, we all have pieces of them in us. So which character do you resonate with, and what advice shocks your heart and calls you out the most?

Here is a breakdown of what your character means about you…

Lucy: You need to give yourself a break. You’ve made mistakes, but they don’t have to define you. You have to be able to pick yourself back up. You need to reflect on yourself and what you want. Feeling lost is natural, especially when you’ve been through difficult situations, but letting them define you is a recipe for disaster. Finding self-love starts with finding self-tolerance, so let’s start there.

Diana: You are a driven person with a strong, considerate heart. You are ready to face a challenge and stand by the people you love. You should remember that just because you are a perfectionist, it does not mean that showing weakness is a sign of losing. You don’t have to bury it all to move forward.

Pippa: You tend to put up a tough exterior. You are loyal and ride-or-die for your friends like no other. You truly give your all into your relationships. You have a soft heart, but need to recognize it isn’t a weakness. You don’t need to be afraid to show it. You can’t outrun your thoughts and unhappiness. There isn’t a special recipe to make you feel different.

Bree: You are a caring and loyal friend. You can be quiet before people get to know you. You let people in slowly. You crave normalcy that you aren’t sure exists for you, but you are willing to find it. Stand up for yourself and what you want. You can’t heal by trying to outrun your past. Embrace who it has made you and fight for your future.

Evan: You are a good person, until you get caught up in trying to look like one rather than actually being one. It’s alright to be lost and not sure of your direction. Instead of sorrowing in that, take the time to explore what you actually want, not just what you think you should want.

Stephen: You are driven and will stop at nothing to achieve your goals. Take a step back and recognize that just because you want to succeed does not mean you shouldn’t consider what that means for the people around you. You can learn so much from the relationships in your life if you stop treating them as transactional.

Each of these characters represents different types of people. We’re all a bit lost and confused, especially when we are young. Who we are is more than just our beliefs and thoughts; it’s our actions. You have to act like the person you want to be; that’s the best way for people to see who you really are.
