If there’s anything I’m looking forward to most in 2026, it’s without a doubt Euphoria making its return to our screens. When the show first premiered in 2019, I remember hearing all the buzz and not understanding how a TV show about a high school drug addict and her chaotic friend group could be worth watching. It felt overplayed (a major understatement in hindsight).

As someone who has a hard time staying interested in TV shows, Euphoria became an unexpected thrill in my otherwise boring, repetitive high school routine. From the incredibly well-written characters to the aesthetically stunning cinematography and riveting soundtrack, this show feels less like a stereotypical teen drama and more like a cultural awakening.

Season 3

Premiering four years after Euphoria’s second season—and seven years after the first—fans have been yearning for this moment, so it’s about time we finally get what we’ve been waiting for. The first episode of the new season premieres on HBO on Sunday, April 12, 2026. Like the previous seasons, Season 3 will include a total of eight episodes.

Here’s the trailer for a little taste of what we’re in for!

Characters

The Euphoria marketing team clearly knew what they were doing because they addressed everyone’s biggest unanswered question in the trailer: what happened to Laurie, the scarily stoic drug lord who threatened Rue after going into business with her? Based on what we know, Rue is definitely in trouble, considering the drugs she was meant to sell for Laurie were flushed by her mom. I’ve been dying to see how Rue plans to escape Laurie’s wrath.

Jules, my literal favorite character in the world of fiction, is thriving with a career in art after moving to the city. Cassie and Nate are engaged… genuinely, what? I did not see this one coming, nor can I say I’m surprised, but honestly, they deserve each other. Meanwhile, Maddy is working in Hollywood like the unbothered girlboss she is, and Lexi is also in the entertainment industry, now working as an assistant to a showrunner.

New surprises

I truly didn’t think this show could get any better until I found out that Labrinth is collaborating with Hans Zimmer for the Season 3 soundtrack. For those unfamiliar, Hans Zimmer is a legendary composer known for iconic scores like Interstellar, Inception, and The Lion King. Labrinth is already incredible on his own, so I’m ecstatic to see what the two of them create together.

New cast members include singer Rosalía, actresses Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Sharon Stone, and most surprisingly, influencer Vinnie Hacker.

Unfortunately, several familiar faces won’t be returning this season. Barbie Ferreira won’t return as Kat, Storm Reid won’t return as Gia, and heartbreakingly, the death of Angus Cloud means we won’t get to see beloved Fezco—or what his and Lexi’s adorable budding romance could have become.

Between Rue’s fate hanging by a thread, Hans Zimmer’s contribution to the soundtrack, and Vinnie Hacker joining the cast, I’m completely on the edge of my seat for this season—maybe more than I’ve been for any season of any show ever. Euphoria is so much more than just a TV show; it’s an adrenaline-running experience that feels unmistakably unique. With our beloved Euphoria Sundays just around the corner, it’s safe to say we’re finally back where we belong.
