It’s time to head over to camp and rock out once more because it’s finally official that Camp Rock 3 is happening! On Dec. 4, Disney dropped the first teaser of what will be expected in Camp Rock 3. After all of these years, who would have thought that we would be getting another Camp Rock movie especially with the way Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam ended? As a Disney lover, I loved all of the old school Disney Channel original movies especially when I have an older cousin who made me watch all of her favorite’s when she was growing up. As it is very exciting to get another Camp Rock movie, there are some concerns that come to mind especially with the negative opinions about creating more sequels and remakes of these old school movies, so let’s get into a deep dive about this teaser trailer.

The teaser trailer only lasts for 42 seconds, but we do get a lot in the trailer. For starters, a memorable moment for everyone has to be when they showed the Jonas Brothers reminiscing and remembering all of their memories at Camp Rock. The trailer was going all over the camp showing that it has not changed one bit since the last time we’ve seen Camp Rock, which was many years ago. Throughout the trailer, you hear the boys talking about everything Camp Rock and how much they miss it. There was even a moment where Kevin Jonas says “Still no birdhouse” which makes me remember in the first Camp Rock movie where Kevin Jonas’ character Jason Gray mentions how he wanted a birdhouse, which only true fans would remember. The trailer also shows an updated song book that Mitchie, the main character in the Camp Rock franchise, owns, which leads to the question about whether Demi Lovato will be reprising her role as Mitchie since she is an executive producer for Camp Rock 3. The trailer had a fan favorite song playing in the background “Wouldn’t Change a Thing” which definitely gave me plenty of goosebumps and brought back so many memories when the Camp Rock movies were released and was playing on Disney Channel all of the time.

As much as we loved to experience going down memory lane throughout the trailer, we can’t forget to mention all of the new things that are being added to the Camp Rock franchise. In the trailer, it doesn’t mention a release date, but it does let us know that we can expect to get the movie out in the summer of 2026, which should come pretty quick since we are pretty much finished with 2025. Not only do they mention the expected release date, but they showed the new cast of this Camp Rock movie. So far, we know that five new cast members will be joining the Camp Rock franchise and it is very clear that they will be the new camp members that will be attending camp throughout the movie. There is no other news about if there will be other new cast members joining the franchise or if any original cast members will be coming back to reprise their roles in the new movie.

It is most likely that only the Jonas Brothers will be coming back to reprise their roles for Camp Rock 3, which is honestly very disappointing for the fans of the franchise. This can cause a problem for the movie because with all of these sequels of old school movies coming out, people are getting very annoyed with changing the movies and not getting the whole original cast to do the sequels. I am honestly very worried for many reasons. Don’t get me wrong, I personally like most of the sequels and remakes that have been coming out these past few years. However, in order for me to really like the movies, you can’t change so much; don’t add scenes that don’t make sense or fit with the movies, or at least get some original cast members to be in the movies in order for me to like it. I feel like some sequels from Disney like Descendants: The Rise of Red, Hocus Pocus 2, and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series have failed to live up to the previous movies, which made me very disappointed.

However, for some reason I have good feelings about this movie and will give it a chance when it comes out. I feel like Camp Rock 3 will have surprise guests and will actually have a good plot to the movie. Who knows, I feel like people are too blinded by nostalgia and won’t give old school movie sequels a chance, but I feel like we should give Camp Rock 3 a chance since it only ever did get two movies until now and it can’t be that bad if we were able to get the Jonas Brothers to come back for part three. The only reason that I would ever say I’m not watching a sequel to an old school movie is because it actually looks really bad based on the teasers and trailers. But, this teaser trailer makes the movie look not so bad, so I say we should all give Camp Rock 3 a chance, and see what Camp Rock has been up to since the last time we’ve been to camp. So get ready for summer of 2026 and grab your musical instruments when we head on back to camp for Camp Rock 3 for our next summer adventure!
