As a member of Greek life and holding the sisterhood chair allowed me to get creative and come up with many fun activities for my sorority. Holding this position not once, but twice, has challenged me to change things with many different events to avoid getting repetitive. If you’re in Greek life, here are 5 fun event ideas that could be next on your list. If you’re in greek life here are 5 fun events that you could plan.
#1 Movie Night
If you’re looking for an entertaining and relaxing time, movie night is the perfect way to go! This event could be indoor or outdoor if you have the space. If not, you can always rent out a room at your local movie theater. All you would need is a white screen, a movie projector and some snacks and drinks. To pick a movie out you could send out a poll to your chapter and then everyone vote what they would like to see. Whichever has the most vote wins!
#2 Bingo night
If you want to go out with a bang, bingo night will bring the heat! Bingo night is always a fun activity to host for your chapter. You could provide snacks and drinks.You could provide snacks and drinks and make goodie bags for everyone to take home. Some prizes ideas would be to collaborate with brands or making fun raffle type baskets.
#3 Craft night
I’m sure that everyone has done this event in their sorority at one point, but here are some ways to spice it up! Instead of just one activity why not have multiple options where your chapter could choose which type of craft they would like to make. Provide canvases and paint to have a paint swap in which you rotate canvases every 5 minutes, or felt and paper to make personal pennant flags. Another favorite is a slime making night!
#4 Host a workout class
Have fun and get active with your chapter by going to your local gym and signing up for a class like pilates, Zumba, yoga or even spin! Even better, if you have a member that teaches a specific class at your school, have them schedule a private lesson for everyone. If you have a member that teaches a class at your college gym, talk to the athletic director to schedule a private lesson or rent out the room for that member to teach a class!
#5 PowerPoint Night
Another fun activity would be a powerpoint night. You could partner up with someone or make one individually and create any type of PowerPoint to present to your chapter. Some ideas for PowerPoint presentations are: turning your sorority sisters into men, who is most likely too, what type of Disney character you would be, what Disney movie each sister would belong to, celebrity lookalikes, what your sisters would do if they were president, what everyone would do if they were on Love Island or who would survive the Hunger Games.
These are just a few suggestions for exciting sisterhood events to host with your chapter for fall and spring semester.
