The Semi-Finals are here! I cannot believe we are almost to the end of Dancing With the Stars (what will I do with my life after this?) As less and less couples grace us on the screen, the more my nerves ramp up as the remaining celebrities compete for the mirror ball. Prince Night brought lots of fire and high energy, lighting up the dance floor and the celebrities. They had to perform two full dances for Prince Night, so here are my thoughts for the six couples:

Elaine Hendrix danced a Foxtrot to “I Wanna Be Your Lover”

  • Her arms were so much better during this dance compared to last week
  • She was so precious!
  • The little flicks and musical add-ins made this so fun
  • I agree with the judges that the dancing was great, but it was missing that little something to make it a 10
  • Judges’ scores: 9,9,9
  • My score: 9

Alix Earle performed an Argentine Tango to “Little Red Corvette”

  • The song did not match the vibe of the dance in my opinion
  • I like that the judges are being more strict for the semi-finals because I agree with their critiques – it wasn’t as sharp as it could be
  • Judges’ scores: 9,10,9
    My Score: 9

Whitney Leavitt danced a Cha Cha to “1999”

  • I feel like I write the same thing every time – her dancing is great
  • This was definitely a better improvement than her first cha cha
  • Judges’ scores: 9,10,10
  • My score: 10 (again, technique-wise)

Dylan Efron performed a Tango to “I Would Die 4 U”

  • I was a little hesitant that he wouldn’t perform as great as last week, but he did better than I expected
  • I really liked the song choice, but his facial expressions are lacking compared to everyone else
  • He did not give as much energy as Daniella did throughout the entire dance
  • Judges’ scores: 9,9,9
  • My scores: 9

Jordan Chiles danced a Jive to “Raspberry Beret”

  • I won’t lie, there were some timing issues throughout the dance
  • The dancer in me wants her hands to look different, but I have to remind myself it’s not that deep
  • Judges’ scores: 9,9,9
  • My scores: 9

Robert Irwin performed a Jive to “Baby I’m a Star”

  • Usually, my attention goes to the pro at some point, but my attention NEVER leaves him while he is dancing
  • That was the best dance of the night so far!!!!
  • Jive is 100% HIS DANCE style
  • Judges’ scores: 10,10,10
    My score: 10

Elaine Hendrix danced a Paso Doble to “When Doves Cry”

  • That was A LOT better than her first dance
  • Her outfit fits so well and looks amazing on her
  • I love that she is versatile in her dance styles and can do it all
  • I know people love Whitney’s performances, but Elaine knows how to act and dance all in one
  • Judges’ scores: 10,10,10
  • My score: 10

Alix Earle performed a Viennese Waltz to “Purple Rain”

  • She executed that dance really well
  • She looked so beautiful and danced wonderfully
  • I love when Viennese Waltzes are done well!!
  • Judges’ scores: 10,10,10
  • My scores: 10

Dylan Efron danced a Cha Cha to “Kiss”

  • That was a lot of fun to watch!!
  • His hands were more particularly placed and did not look like they were all over the place
  • His technique wasn’t quite a ten for me, though
  • I think he also lacks the performance quality that I like seeing in everyone else
  • Judges’ scores: 9,9,10
  • My score: 9

Whitney Leavitt performed a Viennese Waltz to “Slow Love”

  • I knew this dance was going to be fabulous
  • She looked gorgeous and danced like a true performer
  • I also noticed the hop she did in the dance. I do not think Carrie Anne was crazy for saying that
  • This was my favorite dance from her
  • Judges’ scores: 9, 10, 10
  • My score: 9

Jordan Chiles danced an Argentine Tango to “U Got the Look”

  • Dancing was FABULOUS
  • This was the dance she needed to show up and prove to everyone that she could do it
  • Her feet looked unpointed to me, but none of the judges said anything, so I cannot fully tell
  • Judges’ scores: 10,10,10
  • My score: 10

Robert Irwin performed a Viennese Waltz to “WOW”

  • He SHOWED UP tonight and knocked everyone out of the park
  • The judges talk about Alix’s improvement, but Robert came in with NO experience whatsoever, no dance or cheer – I am more impressed with him than I am with her
  • Judges’ scores: 10, 9, 10
  • My score: 10

Whitney Leavitt was shockingly the celebrity eliminated. I think the new season of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, combined with her dropping an F-bomb, did not do her justice. I am glad that she is grateful for the experience and had a wonderful time competing. I know she has big dreams to be in the acting/performance industry, so I think DWTS will propel her into it. Now, the remaining five couples will compete in three dances during the finale and battle it out for the Len Goodman mirror ball trophy. Who will win?!
