The holiday season is here once again!

As a certified cozy girl (I am a Taurus, for reference) and a Crazy Christmas Enthusiast™, I enjoy curling up on the couch and watching a holiday movie after a long day of schoolwork. The problem is, I spend more time choosing from a massive list of movies that I can only cram within a month of the year than I do actually watching them!

If you share the sentiment that there is too much to do in too little time, but you still want to revel in all of the cozy holiday feels, here is the perfect day-by-day holiday movie guide for December!

Dec. 1: Miracle on 34th Street

Kick off December with a classic film. Whether it’s the 1947 film or the 1994 remake, you are bound to feel a surge of Christmas cheer that’ll power you through the rest of the season.

Dec. 2: Little Women

No matter which adaptation you choose, the story’s comforting and wintry aesthetic, coupled with life lessons about family, friendship, and love, makes it a meaningful watch this time of year.

Dec. 3: Elf (2003)

“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” And, watching Will Ferrell act like a hilariously naive 6-foot-tall elf!

Dec. 4: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005)

It’s not quite a Christmas movie, but it’s got a magical, wintry atmosphere that will bring the whole family together.

Dec. 5: The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Is this a Halloween or Christmas movie? The world may never know!

Dec. 6: Harry Potter

Spend this relaxing Saturday binging the entire eight-movie series, or focus on any one (or all three!) of the top three Harry Potter movies with the best Christmas vibes.

Dec. 7: How to Ruin Christmas (2020)

Granted, this is a Netflix series — not a movie — but this South African comedic miniseries deserves a spot on everyone’s holiday watchlist. You’ll binge-watch the bite-sized seasons so fast, it’ll feel like watching one hilarious, raunchy Christmas movie!

Dec. 8: Something from Tiffany’s (2022)

What’s better than a Christmassy romcom? A Christmassy romcom that brings the drama with a panic-inducing gift swap!

Dec. 9: Klaus (2019)

This 2019 animated Netflix original is a certified tearjerker. If you’re looking for a heartwarming, family-friendly story, Klaus is a great choice!

Dec. 10: Falling For Christmas (2022)

Another Netflix original that will put you in the Christmas mood. Is this film cheesy? Yes. But come on, Lindsay Lohan stars in it!

Dec. 11: Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020)

Musical numbers, fun costumes, and a family-friendly plot? Say less!

Dec. 12: How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

For anyone who isn’t feeling the Christmas spirit quite yet, this one is for you. It’s okay to be a Grinch this time of year. Hopefully, this movie will help your heart grow three sizes!

Dec. 13: A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)

While the beloved 1965 holiday special will not be making its way to our screens via cable this year, Apple TV is allowing non-subscribers to stream A Charlie Brown Christmas on the 13th and 14th. Don’t miss out on this nostalgic half-hour treat!

Dec. 14: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)

Maintain the sentimental Christmas special vibes with this ultra-short 1964 film!

Dec. 15: When Harry Met Sally (1989)

It’s not strictly a Christmas film, but this cozy friends-to-lovers romance should earn a place on everyone’s fall/winter moodboard every year. Besides, the scene in which Meg Ryan drags a Christmas tree into her NYC apartment definitely adds some holiday flair to this film!

Dec. 16: The Holdovers (2023)

For BU students tackling final exams, reward yourself for studying hard with a well-deserved Christmas movie. Commit to the wintry academia aesthetic by watching this Boston-based, feel-good film set in the 1970s.

Dec. 17: While You Were Sleeping (1995)

Fa-la-la-in love with this timeless story about unlikely love!

Dec. 18: Noelle (2019)

Who said Santa Claus has to be a “mister?” Noelle shows that Christmas isn’t Christmas without embracing family, the spirit of giving, and recognizing that anyone can spread Christmas cheer.

Dec. 19: The Preacher’s Wife (1996)

A classic, family-friendly romance starring Denzel Washington, Whitney Houston (and her amazing vocals!), and Courtney B. Vance? Quiet down, guys, my movie is on!

Dec. 20: Eloise at Christmastime (2003)

There’s nothing more Christmassy than a stay at The Plaza NYC in December! Six-year-old Eloise is an adventurous — and elegant — heroine determined to save Christmas. I guess we could all learn something from her festive antics!

Dec. 21: Good Luck Charlie: It’s Christmas! (2011)

This Disney Channel comedy will have you laughing, crying, and feeling grateful that you’re not a member of the wild Duncan family!

Dec. 22: The Holiday (2006)

Any film directed by Nancy Meyers gets my gold stamp of approval. Cozy vibes? Check. Romance? Check. Self-discovery and empowerment? Check, check!

Dec. 23: Home Alone (1990) & Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)

Grab extra snacks, because tonight is a double feature!

Dec. 24: The Polar Express (2004)

Say what you want about the uncanny valley animation style, this movie will have you embracing the childlike wonder of Christmas once again!

Dec. 25: White Christmas (1954)

Enjoy Christmas Day with this musical classic that will warm you up like a cup of cocoa!

Dim those lights, grab a steaming mug of hot chocolate, and fire up the remote!
