The Hobbits are going on another adventure, but this time it’s throughout North America. Starting in January 2026, everyone’s favorite Hobbits will appear at 11 FAN EXPO events in celebration of The Lord of the Rings (LOTR) movie trilogy’s 25th anniversary. The tour, titled “An Evening with the Hobbits,” will feature the familiar faces of Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, and Billy Boyd.

This event is advertised as much more than a typical expo panel, supposedly including a variety show, live storytelling, and other special moments that are sure to make it a unique experience. There will also be opportunities for photos and autographs at each venue.

If you want to guarantee a souvenir, you can purchase one of the special packages offered to secure your favorite Hobbit’s signature or a fun photo with them.

Regarding pricing, the cost of this experience varies by location. Tickets start at approximately $25 for general admission, $110 for a photo or autograph with one of the Hobbits, around $400 for all four, and finally $799 for the elite backstage pass.

This pass will get you a photo and autograph with the cast, as well as priority seating at their panel. It’s definitely not the most affordable option, but anyone can agree that this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The full dates, times, and locations for each event can be found on the FAN EXPO website, along with links to purchase tickets. If you’re interested in attending, you’ll want to consider buying tickets sooner rather than later, as this is a dream-come-true moment for many fans.

The last time the four main Hobbits reunited was in 2022, around 10 years after their previous reunion, so it’s best to beat the crowd of elves, dwarves, and orcs by grabbing tickets in advance.

The tour spans several months, beginning early in 2026 and concluding in September. Interestingly, there’s a gap in June and July, which aligns with the filming schedule for the newest addition to Middle-earth movieverse, The Hunt for Gollum.

Wood’s role in this is confirmed, but there’s speculation from fans that we might see the return of some of our other Hobbits on the big screen. We’ll have to wait until the movie’s scheduled 2027 release to know for sure.

This tour isn’t just for the superfans who could tell you facts like Wood being stabbed with a prop spider stinger during filming, but rather it’s for anyone who enjoyed the magic of Middle-earth. You don’t need to have read every single book and the accompanying appendices to have fun in the company of the four amazing actors who made these movies so special. There’s so much to hear about their experiences filming that you won’t need a large knowledge base.

If I weren’t a college student with a rigid class schedule and a small budget, my name would’ve proudly been on one of those VIP lanyards. No worries, though, if you’re in a similar situation to me, as all the content from the panels and other experiences will find its way onto YouTube somehow.

So, regardless of whether you’ll be in-person to witness this exciting event or watch online later, you’ll be able to sit down and enjoy your second breakfast with 25 years’ worth of inside jokes and memories.
