Things to Bring Back…

  1. Hot Politicians…Enough said.

In case you’ve been too busy to keep up with the news, the past couple of weeks have been exciting for Americans. A blue wave is sweeping across the nation, Hope is being restored, and those taking office are HOT, unbothered, and ready to make a difference.

While some people on Pennsylvania Ave are throwing lavish parties, building a $300 million ballroom, and disregarding all responsibilities, others are rolling up their sleeves and getting to work. New leaders are stepping in with fresh ideas and a genuine commitment to the people they serve. They’re focused on protecting rights, addressing inequality, and rebuilding trust in government, proving that leadership isn’t about power or prestige, but purpose. Let’s run Tony Goldwyn back.

  1. Compliments

Let’s not rob people of a compliment because we’re too shy. Compliments are so magnetic; they’re low effort yet highly impactful. Casual admiration would make the world hotter.

  1. Yearning

Men are acting like divas these days, and that would be fine if they were genuinely good at it, but let’s be honest, they are not. Bring back the slow burn, the effort, the intentionality, and the kind of interest that is expressed through actions. Yearning requires vulnerability, and vulnerability requires maturity, and apparently that is exactly what has gone out of style. Those who lead by example and whose actions should be followed: Mr. Darcy, Snape, Cameron James, Seth Cohen, and Fitzgerald Grant III, to name a few, but trust the list goes on and on.

  1. Department of Education Restoring Professional Status to Essential Degrees

It would be really hot if we didn’t keep perpetuating socioeconomic stratification by limiting which degrees count as “professional,” especially when the ones being cut are in fields that society relies on most. When programs like nursing, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, public health, and other allied health professions lose access to professional-degree status, they also lose access to the financial structures that make advanced training possible for students. Stripping these degrees of professional recognition doesn’t make them less rigorous; it just makes them less accessible.

  1. A good economy

Bring back…

  • Not being in a recession.
  • Being able to find a job post-grad.
  • Not feeling the need to have started saving for a house in 2009 when I was making papier-mâchĂ© in kindergarten.
  • Affordable rent.
  1. Bring Back the Kindness Bucket

Bring back kindness; it goes a long way. Just follow the golden rule: “treat others the way you want to be treated.” It’s that simple. Hold the door for others, don’t deport your neighbor, cover a shift for a coworker, and use manners.

  1. Teaching Multiple Languages

It’s so chic and cool to know multiple languages. It’s already wicked hot when a man knows a second language; imagine all of society being able to switch between languages, wow! Being multilingual gives everyone an upper hand, and everyone collectively becomes smarter, which will inevitably make society hotter. Multiple languages should start being taught in schools from a young age, when one’s brain plasticity is at its greatest, and children are still in the critical learning period for language acquisition, making it easier to learn and retain new languages.

  1. Give College Kids Stipends

Stay with me, wouldn’t it be kind of the government to fund students while they’re getting higher education…that would fill my bucket. Or, really hear me out, lowering the cost of higher education to make it more affordable for all. That would make America a knockout!

  1. Reading

Reading is hot. Bring back being literate, having an expansive vocabulary, and being knowledgeable in many domains. For everyone trying to find a Callum to their Dua, start reading.

  1. Exercise More

Studies have shown correlations between exercising and an increase in mood. While correlation does NOT mean causation, the evidence is pretty damning. I think everyone would be hotter if endorphins were flowing throughout our bodies. Society would look hotter and feel hotter. Bottom line, Americans could exercise more. Thank me later!
