ENTRY #1

Welcome to the first entry of Seasonal Essentials with Ivy, where I round up my seasonal favorites as well as my wishlist items. Whether you’re on a budget or ready to invest in a new piece. I have something for everyone.

If you live in Atlanta, you are well aware of the polarized weather that changes by the hour. So, whether you’re having a brutally cold morning or a sunny afternoon with a calming breeze, here is my list of items that are getting me through fall.

  1. Green and Pink Plaid Brushed Blanket Scarf with Pockets ($40)

Running to the World Market is always an exciting venture. They have it all, from fun snacks to cute decor items and trinkets. A new staple I ran through last fall was their scarf selection. This fun holiday-themed scarf is warm, chunky, and commands attention in every room. It’s the perfect way to add a touch of sparkle to your outfits while still being practical.

  1. CashSoft Sweater Zip Hoodie ($63)

Mall culture is slowly dying, and the thrill of discovering something new and sharing it with friends has become a lost art. In the age of online orders and consumerism, I invite you to return to the basics. Gap has been killing it lately with its catchy advertisements and has the merchandise to back it up. Although on the pricier side, this zip hoodie is worth every dollar. And, as a bonus, GAP is constantly having sales, so I recommend checking the website regularly to make your next trip to the mall totally worthwhile!

  1. Vegan Leather Slouch Tote ($63)

Are you looking for your next work bag? Then look no further. Banana Republic is having a half-off sale on its slouch tote. Whether you’re clocking into an internship or attending a networking event. This tote is sure to fit all your items and solve all your problems.

  1. Build Your Jewelry Bundle

With over 19,700 5-star reviews, Beautiful Earth Boutique is the perfect balance between quality jewelry and student-friendly prices. They offer a variety of pieces that are tarnish-free and come with a one-year warranty. If you’re looking to have longer-lasting jewelry without the hefty price tag, check their jewelry bundle deals.

  1. VANLINKER Polarized Retro Oval Sunglasses ($20)

Just like you need your sunscreen all year round, regardless of the weather, I want to make the case that you need sunglasses all year round. They protect your eyes from the harsh midday sun or shield them from the brutal winter’s cold weather. They are also a fun accessory to spice up and elevate your outfit.

  1. La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer ($25)

Skin care is critical during the colder months. If you have dry skin, nothing has changed the game for me like this moisturizer. Now, I am no dermatologist, but I do know that having dewy skin makes you look more put-together, so consider finding a moisturizer that works for you as we transition into the seasons.

  1. My Spotify Playlist ($5.99 with a student email)

Our generation has fallen into the trap of nostalgia, and I am not above it. Fall calls for softer music that takes you back. (I’m currently watching Daisy Jones & The Six, so that might be it.) This playlist is getting me through the rough mornings as I fight off my senioritis or the soft evenings when I do my homework under the warm light. My honorable mentions are Mac DeMarco’s This Old Dog and Gorillaz’s Demon Days

  1. EarPods (USB-C) ($20)

In the same breath of nostalgia, I cannot live without my wired earphones. They are a necessity in my life and are helping me get through this part of the semester, where I spend most of my time hunched over my computer. As a fun way to bedazzle them, I came across creator @Sarahcurr888’s video, where she completes a DIY project on how to rhinestone your own earpods, which I’m eager to try.

  1. Daily Stripe Mug ($10)

An Anthropologie find, a trip down the store might earn you the cutest mug and sales on their rocks (IYKYK). This season calls for slowing down. Whether it’s chatting it up over a cup of steamy hot chocolate with your girlfriends or drinking your bedtime tea. A go-to mug can make your routine that much sweeter.

  1. Bashful Cream Bunny ($33).

What is the perfect way to top off a cozy night? A stuffed bunny to snuggle with. I have had my stuffed animal since I was 11, and he’s been stuck to my side ever since. But if I were to betray him (definitely not), I would get this Jellycat. They even have options to have a name embroidered on the ears. According to the website, “She’s the go-to for calm advice and even calmer playlists… You’ll hear it playing in every high-rise building with good acoustics. Her next goal: ambient restaurant music.” If that doesn’t sell you, I don’t know what will.

Happy Fall! Stay warm and cozy and I can’t wait to share my next list of season favorites.
