One Last Hurrah Before Graduation

To celebrate my senior year of college at UW-Madison, I have created a bucket list of activities so I can have fun and make memories while I finish up my degree! My actual bucket list for this year is extremely long and continues to grow every day, but I wanted to share some activities as inspiration and to encourage others to create their own bucket lists. College can be stressful, but you don’t need to put your life on hold while you study and work hard. Life is all about balance and my bucket list has helped me improve on my work-life balance.

1. Go to a Badgers Football Game!

Honestly, I don’t know much about football and I don’t think I ever really will. It’s not complicated, but I have never really had much of an interest in football before coming to UW-Madison. Football creates a strong sense of community on campus and everyone is so invested in the game that you can’t help but care too. Unfortunately, I was never able to attend a game before this year because I was focused on schoolwork. Having a bucket list encouraged me to actually participate in the festivities and it was fun watching the game and learning about our football traditions, even though we lost. No matter the results, the Wisconsin Badgers will always be my favorite football team.

2.  Visit Museums

I have always loved visiting museums as a kid and learning through art. Entering a museum always feels like entering a whole new world. There are so many different forms of art and every artist has their own perspective to share. Madison has so many museums and I am very excited to explore them this fall!

3. Stargazing at Washburn Observatory

Who doesn’t love the stars? Ever since I learned that Washburn Observatory is open to the public, I have wanted to go and stargaze. Light pollution makes stargazing difficult and owning my own telescope sounds unrealistic and expensive. The observatory is not only convenient but also breathtakingly beautiful. Its architecture adds to the experience, easily securing its spot on the bucket list.

By the end of the school year, I hope to complete every item on my bucket list and explore the city I have called home for the past three years. I have enjoyed my time in Madison so much thus far and I am sad to see it come to an end. However, I am glad that I am finally taking the time to explore the city. You never know where life could take you and I wouldn’t be mad if I got to spend a few extra years in this wonderful city.
