Many articles ago, I wrote about my three favorite mac and cheeses from Cheesy Cow. Right next door to Cheesy Cow is All-Star Energy Cafe. I have never heard of it before, and I don’t think that many students on campus have either. But every time I visit Cheesy Cow, I would see it next door and told myself that I would try it and maybe write an article about it if it’s good. Well, because you’re reading this now, you know it’s good and want to give it a shot. One thing that I like about All-Star is their gigantic menu, which has everything from cookie shakes to energy brews to protein sodas. This is great for those who love options, but if you’re indecisive like me, this menu can be your worst nightmare (lol). If you need a little help with your decisions, I’m here. I present to you my three favorite drinks from All-Star Energy Cafe.
- Protein Root Beer
Most energy bars I’ve visited have some sort of soda option, but I’ve never been to a shop that sells protein sodas. It’s a mix of your favorite fountain soda (in my case, root beer) and a vanilla protein shake. Need a sweet treat after your workout? This is the drink for you. I love how the root beer and protein shake combine to create an explosion of vanilla in my mouth, but if root beer is not your thing, you can choose Coca-cola, Diet Coke, Pibb Xtra, Sprite, or Mello Yello instead. I love the wide variety, and although all options are delicious, I will always prefer the root beer. It’s the perfect sweet treat to have after a long day of classes.
- Butter Beer
This one is for my fellow Harry Potter lovers: have you always wanted to try Butter Beer but can’t go to Universal Studios? All-Star Energy Cafe has the solution to this problem with their very own Butter Beer. A cup of cold root beer combined with butterscotch, white chocolate, vanilla, and half and half, this drink makes you feel like you’re right at Hogwarts. It’s wonderfully sweet and perfectly creamy with a slight buttery touch to top it all of. Even if you’re not a fan of Harry Potter, I would still recommend trying this dirty soda. The Butter Beer alone should have its very own fan base!
- Starburst
If you know me, you know that I love the color pink and strawberries, so it’s no surprise that the pink starburst is one of my favorite candies. When I was debating on which energy drink flavor to try at All-Star, the Pink Starburst obviously stood out to me. And after only one sip, I knew it deserved a place on this list. Monster is mixed with a punchy strawberry syrup and a touch of white chocolate to create a sweet and tart energy masterpiece. Seriously, it was exactly like eating a pink starburst, only this time you have a lot more of it. For all of my strawberry candy lovers out there that need an energy boost, don’t walk, but run over to All-Star Energy Cafe. One thing it doesn’t know how to do is disappoint.
Although it’s twenty minutes away from Augie, All-Star Energy Cafe is worth the trek. Whether you’re craving a creative protein drink or a new dirty soda or just some good old fashioned energy, All-Star is always mixing up your new favorite drink.
