Getting your nails done can be such a luxury. Being able to spare an hour or so every few weeks and cover the cost of the appointment is not something many college students can budget into their lifestyle. Personally, I love having my nails done. I feel more put together and enjoy the fun colors and patterns you can choose to express yourself. Recently, I decided I wanted to learn how to do my own nails at home instead of spending money on it every few weeks. I went on Amazon and bought Gel X nail extensions, gel nail glue, and polish. I use my UV lamp I have had for years. Every two weeks I set aside time to do my nails and watch my favorite TV show. I enjoy this routine because it is an act of self care and I get to designate time for myself. I learned how to do my nails through Tik Tok. I watched creators giving tips and tricks on how to make them look clean and last longer. Overall, I have probably spent around 30 dollars getting the supplies for many sets of nails. This is a time investment that I enjoy doing and makes me feel productive as well as not feeling guilty for spending around 60 dollars every few weeks to get them done at the nail salon. I am excited to get good at them as well as trying out new patterns and trends that I see online. I suggest you give it a shot!
