Beliebers, it’s time to rejoice! For the first time since canceling the Justice World Tour, Justin Bieber has made his official return to the stage.
The star had been teasing his comeback on Instagram since the beginning of January 2024, with him recently sharing photos of himself in rehearsing for performances.
After spending more than a year focusing on his health, Bieber returned to the stage on Feb. 1 in his home country of Canada. In anticipation of the 2024 NHL All-Star Weekend, Bieber held a surprise concert in Toronto, Ontario, where he performed a 30-minute acoustic set. The star-studded crowd, which included many hockey legends such as Mitch Marner and Morgan Riellygot, got to hear Biebs’ newer hits like “Peaches” and “Ghost,” as well as beloved classics like “Baby”!
With the 2024 Super Bowl quickly approaching – ahem, the Super Bowl Halftime show, if you’re like me and couldn’t care less about football – fans cannot wait for 2000s icon Usher to take the stage. More often than not, Super Bowl Halftime performances include an impressive lineup of surprise guests, and several users on X (formerly known as Twitter) are hoping Bieber will join the “DJ Got Us Falling In Love” artist on stage.
I’d consider myself a real skeptic when it comes to fan theories, but this one seems to have a lot of merit. Usher was one of the first to discover Bieber’s talent as a teenager and mentored the “Sorry” singer at the beginning of his career. The two singers grew close over the years and have collaborated more times than once. Usher’s been featured on remixes of two of Bieber’s biggest hits, “Somebody to Love” and “Peaches.” Plus, die-hard Beliebers know that Usher is also featured on the song “First Dance” from Justin’s debut album “My World.” The two even performed together during the 53rd Grammy Awards in 2011.
With Bieber and Usher going way back, there’s a possibility they could reunite for the Super Bowl. Fans also seem to take this cryptic post on Usher’s Instagram as a hint!
While I’m super jealous of the 2024 NHL Draft crowd, I have to say that the rehearsal pictures on Bieber’s Instagram are making it look like he has a lot more than just an acoustic show coming up. I sure hope he’s gearing up for something big, but if he does appear onstage with Usher during the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show, just know that I’ll be fangirling.
