Long Distance: The Beauty of it all

Imagine those days when the world feels like it’s crumbling, and all you crave is the warm embrace of your partner. Some people can just hop in their car and dive into a pool of love and affection, but not all of us have that luxury.

Now, the real challenge of a long-distance relationship isn’t the relationship itself. My boyfriend and I have a solid, unbreakable bond that feels as if we were made for each other. It’s not keeping our connection alive that’s tough; it’s dealing with the truth that I can’t be with him whenever I please.

My boyfriend and I aren’t just a quick drive away from each other. We’re separated by an entire plane ride. But you know what? Despite the not-so-ideal distance, it keeps our spark alive, and when we finally reunite, it is the best feeling in the world.

Something I have learned from being away from my boyfriend: distance is just a number. The miles that separate us do not define our love. Even though we’re miles apart, I can still make my partner smile daily with a sweet message, an unexpected call, or sharing pictures through the day.

But the absolute cherry on top of this long-distance battle is the joy of finally seeing my partner after what feels like an eternity apart. The night before I get to see him, I’m frantically packing my bag, trying to sleep but I can’t because I am too excited knowing I’ll soon be in his arms again. And when that moment finally comes, and I get a big hug, it’s like I’m a kid on Christmas morning. It makes it all worth it.

So, although long distance is not ideal, I know it’s only making us stronger, and I can’t wait for the day when our long-distance journey ends. It will all be worth it!
