I honestly did not expect the musical of Mean Girls would be getting a movie but here we are.

I never watched the musical or listened to the songs, mainly because I refuse to watch any iteration of Mean Girls. It’s a classic that was successful on its own and doesn’t need to be paired with anything else.

However, after watching the trailer, I’m kinda looking forward to seeing this new version of the plastics, as well as Damian and Janis.

But I’m a bit confused seeing characters from the original Mean Girls playing their previous roles. Is this a continuation? Are we seeing the children of the original characters?

We’ll cover that soon, but in case people are confused after watching the first trailers, this is a musical. Yes, it kinda looks like one of those low-budget movie parodies, but this is a musical about the movie. Minus the music, it’s pretty much Mean Girls with a modern twist since they’re mentioning TikTok, adding memes, and slang. Just writing this is making me cringe and afraid for this adaptation. I don’t even wanna touch on the outfits, it’s too painful.

While I’m not a fan of the actors playing Cady, Aaron, Gretchen, or Janis, I’m very thrilled to see Renee Rap taking over Regina George. I’m also obsessed with Avantika Vandanapu playing Karen Smith, she looks so gorgeous.

Overall, I’ll try to watch this movie just to see if I’d let my future kids watch this after they watch the OG Mean Girls.
