My Favorite Looks From the 2023 Oscars Red Carpet

The 94th annual Oscars took place this past Sunday on March 12th in Los Angeles, California. Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars showed up (and won) in style, especially on the red carpet. While 2022 was quite an exciting year for the film industry, I could not help but pay attention to the fashion statements that were made prior to the ceremony.

Below you can find a short list of my favorite red carpet looks from the Oscars, and all the details regarding their eye-catching fits.

To begin, Cara Delevigne stepped out on the red carpet in a gorgeous Eli Saab Couture gown this past Sunday. This simple yet classic look radiates elegance and is perfect for an event like the Oscars. Although one may look at this and feel that it is a little bit plain and overdone, it is important to note all of the little details that make the dress what it really is. The rouche on one shoulder adds so much to the look as well as the bold, shiny jewelry that she pairs with it. Overall, I think Cara’s presence was very tasteful and perfect for the event.

Michelle Yeoh made history this year by becoming the first Asian woman to win best actress for her role in “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” and she looked stunning while doing so. Michelle stepped out in this gorgeous, white Dior dress, and paired it with the perfect accessories. As I mentioned before, I absolutely love a simple and elegant look when it is done right, and she did just that.

Halle Berry stepped out in a gorgeous Tamara Ralph gown this past Sunday. Normally, I am not a fan of floral patterns on simple dresses but I think the glitter roses were a perfect addition. The rose gold and white contrast is always flattering and Halle looks gorgeous as always. The platform, rose-gold heels work perfectly as well, not overdoing the rose gold theme at all. Overall, I thought this look was perfect for the event and the little details really escalated the entire outfit.

I may be biased on this last one, as I am a huge fan of Paul Mescal’s work, but I really enjoyed his different approach to the typical suit-and-tie look with these contrasting colors. Although he did not win any Oscars for his performance in ‘Aftersun’, he showed up looking as great as ever and stood out with this eye-catching Gucci outfit. It is always fun to see a traditional, masculine look being taken to a different level by the simplest changes, and I think this Gucci tux was a perfect example of this!
