Although it’s March, the winter season is still ongoing, and as always it is so important to take care of your mental health. Winter blues and mental health is no joke and should be taken very seriously. There are many different self-care acts you can partake in to help lift your mood during this time. Here are some that I have used that have helped me combat the winter blues.

During your day-to-day, there are many small tasks you can do to try and boost morale. One small thing you can do would be to take an extra step in your skincare. For example, a fun facemask can take up to 20 minutes, and you can watch Tik-Toks or listen to music while you wait. You can also watch that one movie on Netflix that you have been holding off on.

Another important part of self-care is socialization. Try calling a friend or a family member. Even better, ask if they can meet up for a cup of coffee or want to go walk around the mall. Maintaining social relationships is very important to keep yourself happy.

Another way to take care of yourself would be to partake in activities that brings you joy. For example, painting, making music, sports, working out, yoga, meditating, etc. Personally, I love to meditate. It is a moment where you get a sense of peace. Something we all don’t get nearly enough. Whatever you do, make sure it brings you joy.

As always, take care of yourself.
