If the stress of exams is driving you to start browsing Tripadvisor in the library, you’re not alone. I’ve put together a list of student-budget-friendly grad trips to get away as soon as you hand in that last essay. Have a look; you deserve it.

Porto, Portugal

Porto has it all: beaches, lovely restaurants and a city centre to explore. Eat at a cafe by the river or visit the rosé museum for a perfect girls’ trip. There are lots of affordable apartment options which means you could cook at home to save having every meal out. Travel around the city on an iconic tram for only €3.50.

Barcelona, SPain

If you’re looking for mix of a nightlife and relaxation, Barcelona lets you have the best of both. Stay out clubbing all night and then get the metro to quieter beaches away from the city centre when you’re too hungover to even walk past a bar. The city is well connected so you can save money by walking and taking the metro – no Ubers needed. Stay in the gothic quarter for affordable hotel and food options and make sure you visit the gorgeous Park Güell.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Though it’s maybe less sunny than Porto and Barecelona, here’s no better place than Amsterdam for amazing nightlife and unique experiences. Visit the Vondelpark for a lunchtime picnic to relax (and send pictures to your parents to prove you’re having a wholesome holiday). You can take a walk next to the canals, visit the Van Gogh museum and make the most of the cafe culture all within walking distance from the stunning city centre.
