If you’ve been caught up in the New Year’s activities and forgotten to plan your Valentine’s Day, don’t worry, our Her Campus members have you covered! Here are some date and Galentine’s ideas for the holiday this year that are sure to make your heart soar:

If you want a fun activity without going out with a partner or friend, staying in and baking and/or cooking is a great way to enjoy the night together! Make something easy for dinner and try to add a Valentine’s Day spin on dessert—cut brownies into heart shapes, make chocolate covered strawberries, use store bought angel food cake to create berries and cream parfait, or take time making and decorating a heart shaped cake together. If you’re doing a bigger Galentine’s Day celebration, making a batch of cupcakes and decorating them together with holiday sweets will get you in the Valentine’s Spirit!

When I think of Galentine’s Day, I think of one word: shopping! It’s a great time of year to take a break, gather some friends, and hit the thrift stores. You’ll never know what fun and inexpensive things you may find!
