We’ve awoken the beast and now, we can’t seem to put it back to sleep. ICYMI: Jeffree Star is back in the internet limelight. Following the viral mascara-gate on TikTok, internet users called for Star’s return to makeup reviews. Little did they know, inviting Star back into the internet’s good graces has been a lot like Pandora’s Box: But instead of releasing, you know, the plague, Star is airing out all kinds of internet drama.
ICYMI, Star was one of the most popular YouTubers in the game. His makeup reviews and luxurious lifestyle garnered millions of views and followers on his social media platforms, and his collaborations with Shane Dawson were an entire era of YouTube in and of itself. However, in the summer of 2020, old videos of Star using racist and abusive language resurfaced. Shortly after, Star was the subject of physical and sexual assault allegations. Her Campus reached out to Star’s team for comment, but did not hear back at the time of publication.
Following Star’s dramatic return to the makeup game, he’s been all over the internet — but not for the reasons you may think. Shockingly, Star’s newest drama has nothing to do with makeup and everything to do with… the NFL?
On Jan. 27, Star began a “who is he” game on his Twitter after posting a photo of him and a mystery man on a private jet to Wyoming. Star has continued to post faceless photos of the two, and it’s sending the internet into a frenzy. Jeffree, who is this person?! As someone who has absolutely fallen down the rabbit hole, here’s the 4-1-1 on Star’s mystery man, and the theories surrounding them.

As I mentioned already, this is the beginning of the saga. The comment section of the post is full of theories and shocked reactions from internet users and celebrities alike. Additionally, people are going so far as to zoom in on the mystery man’s hands to find any birthmarks, as well as trying to identify his shoe size based on a singular photo. Internet users should be detectives, STG.
Jan. 28: Star & his man are snowed in.
Instead of sharing another faceless photo, Star chose to post a pic of the snowy view from his Wyoming ranch. He captioned it, “Woke up and we’re snowed in… I love a man who can cook & enjoy chill time [pancake emoji][table setting emoji]”. Not exactly the clues we’re looking for.
Jan. 30: Star shares another photo with the mystery football player.
This one collectively sent the internet into orbit. On Jan. 30, Star shared another faceless photo of him and his man, along with some clues: One, his team didn’t make it to the Superbowl and two, he’s 6’6. Not to mention, the jacket he’s wearing looks eerily similar to the colors of the Cleveland Browns. Hmm… interesting.
Who is Jeffree Star’s NFL boyfriend?
While Star went on to post some, um, rated-R pics recently, there haven’t been any more clues as to who Star’s NFL fling actually is. However, that hasn’t stopped the internet from speculating.
A TikTok user by the name of @digitalcloutboi posted a video on Feb. 1 with his theory on Star’s rumored relationship. According to the creator, Star’s BF (allegedly) appears to be none other than Carl Nassib, the outside linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In 2021, Nassib gained notoriety for being the first active NFL player to come out as gay. On Jan. 4, Olympic swimmer Soren Dahl posted a photo with Nassib, making the two IG official. However, Nassib has reportedly deleted all of the photos on his profile with Dahl. Her Campus reached out to Nassib’s team for comment, but did not hear back by the time of publication. Safe to say, it’s all speculative and entirely up in the air at this point.
Honestly, this whole thing feels like a weird twist on Clue or Guess Who? at this point. Hopefully, Star’s new man (whoever he may be) can come out and be IG official with Star in the future, on his terms. But, until then, I guess it’s back to sleuthing.
