If you couldn’t tell by the endless Mariah Carey in the air, the holiday season is back and it’s the time of year when we’re all scrambling to find gifts for our loved ones. While it’s really the care put into gifts that truly matter, having references can’t hurt. So, here are 5 categories of gifts to surprise every kind of friend in your life:

for your fashion-loving friends

Lately, I have not been able to step outside my house without my reversible plush jacket from Costco. It’s so cozy and comes in an array of patterns, but my favorite is the white-brown gingham one. Another great winter jacket for your fashionable friends includes the effortlessly trendy puffer jacket. The black one goes with every outfit without ruining it, so whoever you give it to is bound to get a lot of wear out of it. The UGG Tasman slippers are another cozy winter trend I’ve seen all over the internet and they look perfect to roll out of bed and go to class in (the ankle boots look is super cute too). If UGGs aren’t your style, loafers are such a beautiful closet staple that people have been raving about all year. I get lots of compliments on my Sam Edelman loafers and I think they’d make the perfect gift for the holidays.

for your makeup/skincare-loving friends

Gift sets are always the winners of the makeup and skincare section, as they’re usually the best deals and the most fun to open. The Glossier balm dotcom trio allows you to pick any 3 flavors of their highly-rated skin salve for a discount price. Another uber popular gift set is the Bum Bum Jet Set—the only thing more fun than the name is the luxurious scent of the products. If your buddy is a diehard Rihanna fan (or really just anyone that loves makeup), they’re guaranteed to love the Glossy Posse lip gloss trio from Fenty Beauty. If your friends are stocked up in the makeup section or have had a stressful year, get them the Wishing You self-care kit from Sephora to let them know that you’ve been thinking of them.

for your cafe-loving friends

If your friends have been obsessed with matcha this past year and spending hundreds of dollars at cafes, save them some money with a matcha whisk set and maybe also throw in some matcha powder. If they are more of a boba tea person, there are countless boba tea kits that you can get online. Boba shops everywhere have shot up significantly in popularity and my addiction is hurting my wallet, so I personally would love to get this. If you have a buddy that’s more of a coffee fanatic and you have a bigger budget for gifts this year, I have heard nothing but praise for the Nespresso coffee machine. If your friends are set on drink-making utensils and ingredients, hop on Etsy for some unique mugs that reference their favorite tv shows or memes.

for your book-loving friends

I love reading and I recently saw a few personalized book stamps on Etsy that I would be ecstatic to receive this holiday season. If you would like a more personalized book recommendation to give your friend, I have never found a more thorough or comprehensive guide to the art of book gifting than this Jack Edwards video. If any of your book-loving friends travel very often or live with roommates, gifting them a book light might be the perfect way to go so they can read into the night without disturbing anyone else.

for every kind of friend

If your friend is a music-lover or just in the market for a Bluetooth speaker, this cute mini record-player Bluetooth speaker may be perfect for them. I have also seen so many people rave over mini projectors that can make any room a movie room. They’re perfect for the price and great if your friend doesn’t have the room for a full TV. Speaking of cold wintery movie nights, nothing pairs better with them than cozy blankets. I have heard so much about how soft and warm (albeit expensive) the Barefoot Dreams throws are, so if they’re within your budget you can’t go wrong with one. If your friend is already set in the comfy blanket area, you could get them a silk pillowcase. The material is known to be gentler on the hair and skin, and everyone sleeps so they’re bound to get some good use out of it.

Finding the perfect gift for all of your friends can be stressful, so hopefully this was a helpful starting point. The best gifts are those you put thought into and that come from your heart, though, so don’t worry too much. Have a happy, healthy holiday season.
