Have you ever been angry at the state of the world? Of being taken advantage of? Of not being allowed to be who you are? In these moments, have you ever wanted a song to sing at the top of your lungs or something to listen to on repeat that represents exactly how you feel? Well then, this playlist is for you.

You Oughta Know – Alanis Morrisette

First up, we have a classic example of the “you messed up my life when you left and you don’t even care” song. While this song starts off slow and kind-of specific, by the time it gets to the chorus, you’ll be screaming along in unison with the thousands of women who have been left to clean up the mess made when someone chooses to leave their lives.

Double Dare Ya – Bikini Kill

In their alternative rock style, Bikini Kill sings about how it’s time for you to break away from expectations, stand up for yourself, and allow yourself to become who you truly are. Society is no reason to sit still and be quiet when you’re faced with any type of injustice. It’s time to live your life for yourself, I Double Dare Ya!

S***list – L7

Don’t lie to me: I know you have a list of all the people who’ve wronged you in your life. It may not be written down, but it’s there; all your friends know it. My S***list is pages long.

Complicated – Avril Lavigne

While Avril is talking about a guy in this song, I think it can be applied to anyone in your life. It’s the perfect sing along song when someone you know is acting fake with other people, or maybe even with you. It doesn’t have to be so “Complicated”; just be yourself!

You Don’t Own Me – Lesley Gore

To finish off the list, an oldie but a goodie. “You Don’t Own Me” is one of the original feminist songs, and it still holds power to this day. While it’s not as loud or angry-sounding as all the other songs on this list, it still is a power anthem that makes sure you know that you belong to yourself alone.
