11/18 – Last week, I went to see Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It was an engrossing and unique film. They went outside of Wakanda to the United States and even the underwater city of Talokan. I had no idea that there were people from Wakanda outside of the country. There was even a female Black Panther, which I actually predicted would be the case before seeing the film and without seeing any trailers.

But my favorite character will have to be Namor, also known as K’uk’ulkan. Namor is a mutant and the main antagonist of Wakanda Forever. For one thing, he is very good-looking. Secondly, he seems less of a villain and more of an anti-hero who has seen and perceived humans in a negative way. He didn’t seem to want to take out Wakanda just yet and offered to let them work with him. Plus, when it seemed like Wakanda claimed victory in their fight against him and his people, it seemed like he was hoping it would happen as if it was part of his plan. I wonder how I haven’t heard of him before. The one thing that makes me sad is that Chadwick Boseman, who played T’Challa, the original Black Panther, was not around for the film. If he was in the film, I’m sure he would’ve been super proud of Shuri, who became the next Black Panther and was able to end the battle between Wakanda and Talokan.
