I’ve always been against platforms. I felt they looked chunky, clumpy, and heavy. My disappointment skyrocketed when Fall 2022 belonged to platform Uggs.
I loved my Uggs in third grade. I had the chestnut ones with the bows, and specifically, remember begging my dad for these boots for my 8th birthday in a Panera Bread.
Anyway, fast forward to high school. No one wore Uggs. They were out of style and an ick. Fall 2021 brought back the beloved Uggs but in a cute mini version, The Classic Mini Uggs. Every influencer, college girl, and cool mom owns a pair of these. I have to admit, my mind completely changed and I wore them everywhere; it’s safe to say I love my Ugg minis.
A year later, PLATFORM Uggs are now in. I saw so many ads for these on my Instagram and never once thought “I need those.” The mini uggs were now 2 inches taller and chunkier. I was unimpressed. I never saw the point of the “platform” until I saw them on. I was in a store one day, and a girl was wearing platform Ugg slipper shoes. I immediately Googled these shoes in hopes of buying them but unfortunately, they were sold out everywhere. For two days straight I updated the Ugg website, Bloomingdales, and Nordstrom. Every site showed that these shoes in a size 8 were back ordered and nowhere to be found. These platform Uggs are called, “Tazz Suede Platform Uggs” and I needed to have them. They retail for around $120. A week later, I saw them brand new on Poshmark, closed my eyes, and impulsively pressed “buy.” I paid $225 for them.
Needless to say, it was love at first sight and they’re my most prized possession. My mind changed oh so quickly, and I must admit, I now LOVE platform Uggs! As soon as I got these shoes I was 2 inches taller, my legs looked longer, and I was instantly comfortable. I have never loved a pair of shoes more. Obsessed. I adore them immensely, and may donate my mini Uggs and upgrade to the Platform Mini Uggs!
