Coffeemate Will Literally Pay You $5K To *Not* Do A Turkey Trot

Thanksgiving is right around the corner. And this year, like every year before, I’m sending all the positive vibes to a very particular group of people: families who do a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day. Couldn’t be me. Get well soon, y’all.

If you’re unfamiliar with Turkey Trots, I’ll lay it out for you. On Thanksgiving morning, while the turkey is still brining and the potatoes are unpeeled, families set out on a 5k (or 3.1 miles) run before the holiday festivities. While some families have adopted this tradition in the name of family bonding, many people look at Turkey Trots as a way to prematurely burn off those Thanksgiving calories — no thanks. I happen to love fueling my body healthily, even though Thanksgiving food is nasty. Pass the bread, please!

But I’m not alone when it comes to skipping the Turkey Trot. Coffeemate (you know, the ones who make that godly non-dairy french vanilla creamer) also wants you to skip the Turkey Trot to enjoy a cup of coffee… and $5,000.

That’s right — Coffeemate will be giving $5k to a few lucky people who choose to sit out of this year’s Turkey Trot festivities. Sign me up.

How DO I Enter The “$5K To Skip The 5k” Contest?

According to Coffeemate’s website, the annual Turkey Trot “threatens to disrupt” our morning coffee ritual. So, to keep people caffeinated (and calm before the storm) on Thanksgiving Day, Coffeemate is encouraging all of us to skip the 5k. To enter, just head to the Coffeemate sweepstakes website and enter your first name, last name, and email. The sweepstakes will run until 11:59 p.m. EST on Nov. 24, 2022 — or Thanksgiving Day.

The number of prizes awarded will depend on how many entrants there are in the sweepstakes. So, until the winners are notified, pour yourself a cup of coffee and try sitting out of this year’s Turkey Trot. I know I will be!
