If you’re like me, you love to unwind or de-stress by watching a good show, preferably comedy. I spend most of my day studying, attending meetings or going to class like I’m sure most of you do as well. After a long day, I find that I can only watch comedy to take my mind off of the stress. I have made a list of my favorite comedy shows that are hilarious and have helped me forget about the outside world.

New girl

I am sure that many of you have heard about this show. It has been described as the modern version of Friends and I couldn’t agree more. This show, set in LA, follows the life of Jessica Day, a woman who rooms with multiple men. The show takes you on a journey of the highs and lows of Jessica’s life and the lives of the men she shares the apartment with. It has drama, romance and most importantly is hilarious. I have seen this show multiple times and loved it every single time. Watch on Netflix, Vudu, Prime Video or Apple TV.

how i met your mother

I am currently watching this show, and to be honest, it took a little while before I started liking it. It starts out a little slow, but as you move through the seasons, you will start loving the show for its eccentricness, unique characters and hilarious dialogue. The show revolves around Ted Mosby, an architect in NYC, and his four friends and follows their lives as they navigate their 30s. As you have probably figured out by the title, the show is also about how Ted met his wife. Watch on Hulu, Disney+ and ESPN+.

Brooklyn 99

Brooklyn 99 is a cop comedy that has lovable and unique characters. The show follows the relationships of the people on the show, and I love that it brings all the characters together like they are a family. It has all of the excitement of a cop case while also showing more serious issues in a comedic light. This show is also famous for its quick-witted, hilarious protagonist, Jake Peralta. I would recommend this show for people who enjoy action shows. Watch on Peacock TV, Vudu, Prime Video or Apple TV.

Since these are comedy shows, each episode is different even though the show follows a main theme. People usually watch shows that are addicting, but I find that this makes it really hard to study. The shows that I have listed are easy to stop after one episode which makes it easy for you to both do work, but also find time to de-stress a little everyday.
