Five Items I Need to Survive Fall

The opinions expressed in this article are the writer’s own and do not reflect the views of Her Campus.
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

If you’re like me and hate cold weather, these five items might make the adjustment from warm to cold weather a little easier. Here are my current favorite things to make the transition smoother and more fun.

Heated Blanket

This is by far my favorite purchase for this fall season. In high school, I got my first heated blanket and haven’t been able to live without one since.

A few weeks ago, my heated blanket decided to die on me (perfect timing right for when it’s getting chilly) so I went ahead and ordered the Microplush Reversible Electric Throw Blanket from Target. It is the softest thing ever, not to mention it heats up so much better than my last. And for under $30, you can’t beat it.

I use mine almost daily, and they’re an absolute game changer for naps. Trust me.

candles

Anyone who knows me knows I absolutely love candles. Candles completely change the vibe of any room immediately, and they are especially nice in the colder months because you can break into the warm, cozy scents that literally smell heavenly.

My favorite place to look for candles is TJ Maxx and Marshalls, they always have the best candles at a really good deal. When you’re there, I recommend looking for the brand DW Home, they have the best seasonal selection and the scent is unbelievably strong.

I just bought a DW Home candle in “Salted Caramel Pumpkin,” it’s 15oz. for only $20 at TJ Maxx. I’m in love.

Mauve Blush

There is nothing like a mauve blush for fall. I feel like mauve and purple colors work almost universally, I don’t think I have ever met anyone who didn’t look good with this tone.

The Morphe 2 Wondertint Cheek & Lip Mousse in the shade “Amaze” is my new fall obsession. The texture is absolutely to die for, it literally turns from a cream consistency to a powder as soon as it is applied. Not to mention it blends like a dream AND doubles as a lip color.

It’s only $12. Win-win.

Lately I have been loving blush higher on my cheeks and more under my eyes for a soft, almost sunburnt, glow. On the nose too is just *chefs kiss.*

Thrifted Flannel

There is literally nothing like a broken in, oversized fleece flannel in the colder months. Layered with just about anything. It looks good, and most of the time, it has the perfect amount of wear-and-tear already added.

I love to layer mine with a henley shirt underneath, or you can do a cool neutral crewneck/hoodie to make it extra cozy.

Ugg Mini

I don’t ever shut up about these, I swear. I’m sorry. You just have to get them.

These are probably the most versatile shoes in my closet, they’re so easy to dress up or dress down. You can also wear them with literally any outfit.

Comfy or cute (or both) these shoes will be the warmest, cutest addition to your fall wardrobe. The quality is unbeatable as well.

I love to wear mine with either a pair of sweats and a hoodie or with jeans and a chunky sweater. They look extra cute with some wide leg, flare leggings too.

These are also great items to add to a Christmas list!

Stay warm my friends.
