Halloween is right around the corner, and I personally have not been feeling the spooky spirit yet. I am not sure if that is due to the ungodly amount of homework I have had or what, but if like me you are in need of some spooky spirit, I have curated a playlist to help! Some of these songs are not necessarily directly related to Halloween, but rather just send off that vibe.

  1. Calling All The Monsters by China Anne McClain (This one simply does not need an explanation).
  2. Somebody’s Watching Me by Rockwell (Everytime I hear this song I want to make a mini thriller movie).
  3. Hayloft by Mother Mother (Honestly all of Mother Mother’s stuff gives off the Halloween vibe, but the beat in this one just hits).
  4. Psycho Killer by Talking Heads (This reminds me of some sort of montage in a horror movie).
  5. Mary On A Cross by Ghost (More of a mellow spooky vibe).
  6. Super Freak by Rick James (Anybody else on Harry Potter Tiktok…).
  7. Maneater by Nelly Furtado (Something to strut around to in your costumes).
  8. Season of the Witch by Lana Del Ray (Gotta have my girl Lana in here).
  9. Smooth Criminal by Specifically the Glee version (I don’t know what it is about this song but it scratches an itch in my brain every time. Also, the suspense aspect is why it has made it onto this playlist).
  10. Perhaps Vampire Is a Bit Strong But… by Arctic Monkeys (The drums in this one y’all. Just listen, it will make sense).
  11. Bad Things by Cults (This gives off the vibe of in a psychological thriller when the main character finally figures shit out).
  12. Call Me by Blondie (Villain strut song).
  13. Sally’s Song by Catherine O’Hara (Still spooky, but some calmer vibes as the playlist comes to an end).
  14. Black Out Days by Phantogram (This feels like driving around at night with friends and all the windows are down while y’all look at the spooky decor around town).
  15. I Put A Spell on You from Hocus Pocus (Started with a song that didn’t need an explanation and ending the playlist that way too).
