So you want to do something with your hands? We’ll sit down and buckle up because, as college students, we hardly have time for ourselves. We don’t have time to explore the creativity we all have somewhere deep inside us. Hobbies are meant to be something you do when you have time. Not only that, hobbies are something you do to have fun. Engaging in hobbies can not only be self-fulfilling, but perhaps that hobby could be a passion you enjoy. I hope by the end of this list, you will have at least a few hobbies that you haven’t thought of before to give a try.
Hobbies to do
If you have enough space, then perhaps try your hand at gardening. Now I understand that gardening seems a bit far-fetched, but give it a listen. Some of the positive aspects of guarding are pretty simple. Gardening is fun for those who wish to get their hands dirty. The size of your garden depends on how much physical assertion you will use. You could grow either beautiful flowers or vegetation to eat.
On the other hand, the negative aspects are just as prominent. If you are new to gardening And do not have any previous tools, then the cost of starting your garden is a bit expensive. Of course, there are places you can go to relieve that. Perhaps going to a thrift shop to find a pot would help reduce that price. If you are not mindful when growing plants, you might receive a minor injury such as a scratch or a prick. All should be fine if you keep the area nice and clean. Board games are fun and engaging, especially when you have friends to play with. The only thing that can go wrong when playing a board game is your friendship. But there are plenty of board games to play with unlimited spinoffs. (Here are 50!)
Geocaching! Now, I don’t know how much you know about this. However, geocaching is an outdoor activity. It involves using a GPS receiver or phone to hide and seek containers called “geocaches” or “caches” at locations marked by coordinates worldwide. Geocaching
Reading is a simple hobby that you can do anywhere. You can do it before class or after class. You can do it when you’re waiting on your friends, and you can do it when you’re simply waiting on your professor to show up. There are plenty of sites where you can read books for free or go to the library and check out some books for leisure reading.
Running is the most straightforward hobby to achieve, but it is also one of the most physically asserting. It is one way to get all your steps; you only need a good pair of shoes. If running outside isn’t appealing to you, then perhaps try the Wellness center gym.
I would say cooking is the most challenging hobby on this list. Not all of us have access to a kitchen at this time. However, For those who do, perhaps getting into cooking and baking would be the best bet. 50 Easy Recipes for College Students (allrecipes.com)
While those are six hobbies to try that cost less and require minimum effort, my favorite hobby that is not on this list is crocheting. However, it takes time, and I don’t know how many people would have the time to practice in college.
