I will argue this to the grave, but winter fashion is superior. From New York to Paris Fashion Week (and all its controversies … cough Kayne West cough … ), there are plenty of new trends! HerCampus is here to round up the latest and hottest trends that should be in your wardrobe this winter.

Starting With the Colour of the Season: Fuschia

Valentino’s entire Autumn/Winter 2022-2023 collection was solely based on this colour. While it may be giving pink highlighter to some, there are many ways to incorporate this pop of colour into your everyday wear. For a more formal look, try pairing this Zara shirt with a black pant and blazer.

Or, rock it like Sebastian Stan at the Met Gala with a monochrome slip dress and matching heels. Embrace your inner Barbiecore!

Minimalism Out, Maximalism In!

As heard from Emma Chamberlain herself, her new “uniform” is “the exact same thing every day. Long skirt, scrunched up socks, pair of loafers and a basic white tank top.” At Prada, the tank top was marked with the house’s triangular logo whilst Dior rocked the catwalk in stunning maxi skirts. You probably already have these basics in your wardrobe, so why not give them some extra love this winter?

Reintroducing the Bomber Jacket

Every year, a new style of jacket comes back into style. For 2022, bomber jackets are all the rage. This outerwear hero won’t leave you sweating like a puffer jacket will, but still allows you to layer a woolly underneath. Traditionally made from nylon, the bomber jacket has evolved to be made in all different materials. This black jacket from Pull and Bear is perfect with jeans. If you prefer a more oversized look, try this one from H&M for that vintage feel.

Boots galore

Platform boots have been spotted on the likes of Olivia Rodrigo and Hailey Bieber. For all my short girls (I’m 5’2), this trend is a dream come true! Styling a chunky boot has never been easier. First, choose your colour, be it tan, black or even maroon! Many boots on the market, such as these croc print ones will elevate your outfit if you are pairing them with plain trousers. Patent knee-high boots look beautiful with a mini dress or skirt on a night out!

Wrap up this winter, it’s looking like it’s going to be a cold one! Mix and match these trends to suit your style. Remember, you are always beautiful!
